    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their third arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have three "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Another dynamic to FA, some players wont talk to you if there is a clash with your Manager.

            Very cool.

Oto got $30M. Reeves got $30M.

Beanpole is worth more than them.

I like the high demands. It makes the strategy of who, what and when to offer that much more of a challenge.

You could argue Reeves was for Batavia.

Agreed!!! But with Batavia being the only team ever with 150 million in history to have a budget who will have this type of cash for a "fragile" player?? (though since leaving Pawtucket he rarely gets hurt)

I would assume Oto's salary was intended to avoid a long term deal. I can't imagine deals like that becoming very common. That was a rare instance of a team with a crap ton of budget room who was a piece of two away from being a contender.

I think you will see more of those types of deals. Especially once budgets get set and there is money left over.
