OR, Option B: there's also the chance that this is something I did. I may have tested importing the files into my copy of the game knowing/thinking that I would be the next to run and would therefore overwrite anyone's other exports? Then I created a new file for Garion which may well have included some of those unintended transactions?

For example, Tom Johnson was called up to Maine.

But I definitely released Alvarez and Herlein. When I loaded up my copy of the game an hour ago to download the newest file, it said right on the front screen under recent transactions that they were released.

Instead, they're bizarrely showing as a part of my organization in this file, but they're not (1) on my active roster, (2) on my 40 man roster, (3) on any other roster, or even (4) in DFA. I can only find them via the player search feature or by going to the Players tab and selecting "All Players in Organization."

Before they had been on my active roster.

So clearly the game recognizes I tried to do something with them. But they just kind of disappeared instead of being released.

Furthermore I'm certain I released them before making the roster changes that included calling up Johnson.
Long quote, but I'll say this: I have noticed in 17 that there are very random times I'll release someone in the off-season and then they show up again on my roster.

Now, I've only seen this happen in one of my leagues maybe 2 or 3 times on separate occasions so I mostly ignored it as commish error. It never hurt me. I can still release the guy later.

Very possible it's a weird bug I never realized was a bug.

Never seen the extension situation, but if we're going off the assumption that the extension export took while ignoring the releases, then that's probably what happened.

Let me hurry up and grab my old mana....

oh that's right. I never changed.

Hopefully, GM Matt doesn't cuss me out for that this time.

And it works much like Z described.

They are not on any of my rosters. They exist in my organization. I employ them. But I have to place them in a level.

Actually just happened with a player in one of my leagues. I decided to keep him in AAA. It never hurts. Just release again. But, yes, it's weird.

I had a similar image situation when we first moved to OOTP 16. It worked itself out after a couple sims.

I don't know. Nothing else in the file seems grievously wrong.

Philly still flying high with Tommy Keatts as well (just signed to an extension). Win totals of 85, 95, 97, 93 and 94 in his 5 seasons. Only 44 years old, he could be in Philly for the next 15+ years easily . . .as long as he keeps winning.

Plus, Matt said he remembered processing the trade that didn't go through, but wrote it off as user error on his part.

                But what if it wasn't?

Matt has processed hundreds of trades.

                I've made thousands of exports.

It's our first sim with OOTP 17.

What are the chances that it's a coincidence that two of the longest tenured members of the league make basic errors in the same sim, the first one with OOTP 17?

I just think we need to be on alert.

I'm pretty sure I forgot to hit "Force Trade" and moved onto the next. To be fair I'm about 90% in trades.

Being alert is good though. Always good to keep an eye on HAL.

Maybe I'm reading too much into something that isn't there but I feel like you haven't made that mistake before in the hundreds of trades you've processed over the years.

I've done the exact same thing recently. Put all the pieces on the trade screen, flip over to the forum to record draft picks, and never actually hit the force trade button. Matt can blame it on sleep deprivation due to the new addition. Not certain I have a good excuse for mine.

You're upset that the cowboys choked again. More than happy to forgive you on that :)

Well, my error was prior to the Cowboys loss to GB so not really related. Also, if you'd like to consider what happened in that game to be choking, so be it.

Ya I'd say it's a young team who learned what playoff football is about. They'll be back. Took the triplets a crushing loss in the playoffs before they won 3 of 4.

I think the Cowboys will be back but 2017 will not be easy sledding with a 1st place schedule.

HOME: NY Giants, Philadelphia, Washington, LA Rams, Seattle, Kansas City, LA Chargers, Green Bay

AWAY: NY Giants, Philadelphia, Washington, Arizona, San Francisco, Denver, Oakland, Atlanta
                              Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
                              Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
                              Washington Bats - 1979-2013

I'm unsurprised to report I was able to fix my images easily with the updated league file simply by replacing the files again.
