Seattle goes 1-2 hosting Windy City, playing the role of spoiler as the Blues lose the Stout division title by just one game to the Death Valley Scorpions. Happy Birthday, UMD!

The Pilots finish the season 76-86. That's my worst BLB season since 1999. So this is how the other half lives...

Ready to get the off-season started. Fingers crossed for sweeps in every playoff series.

Patriots Come up Short of Playoffs
      Friday, October 4th, 2019
Pawtucket Patriots manager Jack Funclownsaid his club is "frustrated" to no longer have a chance at the postseason. The club is now mathematically eliminated from a possible playoff berth.

Before this season, the Patriots last missed the playoffs in 2009. In the 41 years they have been a Brewers League Baseball franchise, they have missed the playoffs 24 times. Pawtucket has won the Brewmaster's Cup Championship 4 times in their history.
      Sad say in Pawtucket.

But....we rallied to somehow finish the decade with a winning season. Enjoy the little things.

Erik Upton makes me happy. Also might be the first guy I've ever drafted that can play defense.

Well, we finish our stumble to the finish line and let the Stout slip through our fingers. Still excited about the team performance overall, but hoping the September version of the squad shows up for the playoffs rather than the October version.

Pat Evans wins the pitching triple crown. Honestly, didn't realize he was even in the running (I knew W's and ERA, but he's just a pretty good strikeout pitcher, not elite. That's more of a case of him just doing his regular thing and past year's competition not being there anymore).

OF Ernie Arbini sets the franchise record for K's with 217.

Division Champs! I'm very happy to win the Stout for the first time in 5 years. I really thought we'd blown it with our huge losing streak in September, but somehow we've still managed to win.

We took all 3 games in New York to seal the deal. Great series by us, especially the pitching. We went 9-0 in NY this season (they went 7-2 in our stadium, so home teams didn't do well when we played.

Great season for the Bats so far, hopefully we can keep it up.

90 win season gets us into the dance. Great season by the boys, we're the best team that nobody respects. Go on out there and make everyone miserable.

If not - there's a ton of room for growth the next couple years, we aren't goin anywhere. Hopefully we can make a little noise in the playoffs but the future is extremely bright in Pittsburgh.

As far as the playoffs go - my export is gucci. Please make sure the exports take so we don't have to re-sim anything. Good luck JJ, Spear, Z in this round.

We shouldn't have been within a game of the division after how we played in September. We rested our starting pitchers all week, and our starting lineup this last sim, so we shouldn't have any issues going into the playoffs. Moulton being out hurts us, but not terribly.

I think we can be competitive against Batavia in this series. They won the season series against us, but we went 2-1 against them the last two times we played.

Overall, I'm very happy with the year we've had. I was hoping, and expecting, to win the Bock so that's a slight disappointment. However, there were significant gains in more important areas. We went from being 19th in attendance last year to 3rd this year, which translates into a projected budget bump of $14 million for next year. The hope is that my budget increases enough over the next couple years to cover most of my young players getting their first big contracts. So far it looks like it's working out, we'll see how things look next year once Jimmy Lee is out of arbitration.
