Not much to report on in Seattle... besides 1B Dave Monks demanding to be traded. He's tired of being surrounded by a bunch of slackers and has beens. Get your offers in today!

As for the pennant chase... still some intrigue as we enter the final 4/3 games. The playoff teams seems like a lock at this point, sorry Pawtucket, but a lot of seeding left to be determined. Windy City and Batavia are long shots to win their divisions but with Philly and DC tied with three left to play, the Stout is up for grabs.

Good luck to the contenders. Let's hurry up and get to the off-season.

Barring an epic collapse against Los Alamos (possible) we will throw another division title on the pile and hope for the best in the playoffs yet again.

Mel Reyes may be an early favorite for one of my best FA moves ever. Kid has been stellar.

I thought we needed a sweep, but we took 2 of 3 in Philadelphia to at least keep the division hopes alive. We lit up Pat Evans, so I'm happy with that. Now another tough one coming at New York. They swept us in DC a few weeks ago, maybe we can find a way to return the favor. Or my old team can help us out against the Freedom.

The one positive is even if we played. 500 ball in July instead of that epic collapse of a record, we would still be out of the playoff race.

                      So that's nice. I guess.

I also want to thank Cory for Carrillo. He's been good for us. I hope that continues into next season.

Have decisions to make. Would love to give Gabby Smith and Manny Reyna another chance as starters. But we have a lot of arms that fit in that 3-5 area.

Our locks are TJ Davis, Tom Reed and Jimmy Lewis. I'm assuming Dave Gotschall will be joining the rotation next season. So that's 4 locks.

Who goes fifth? A healthy Pitchford? A reliable Rory Lawrence? Windy City cast off Bob Carrillo? Up-and-down Choong-suk Choi? The emerging Pat Benites? Or once future rotation prospects Manny Reyna and Gabby Smith?

Or maybe it's Ted Adamo if he sees a big jump in the off season?

Nice having options. It's too bad our options are middle rotation arms. Even Davis / Reed / Lewis aren't sure-fire aces. At best we are a pitching team of #3 guys. Average is better than bad so that's something.

Really need Gotschall or Jimmy Thompson to become truly elite arms.

Clever Pawtucket changing the Pitchers so he can mess up my 7-day lineup and face against September call ups players to push for a WC Spot but Driggs and Orbon dominated from the mound to practically erase Patriots chances of play-off revenue.

Benites is solid. You could do worse than him. Lawrence actually looks great so far. I'd probably say Lawrence is the default choice. Dude was an All-Star at age 25 two years ago. The other vets have track records of being not good.
