Another winning week for the Bats and the lead grows by a game. We were shackled in our first two games by the two Daves on Los Alamos - Harmony and Glomski. From that point, we were pretty good, winning 4 straight including a second sweep of Seattle in as many weeks. Sorry about that, Pat.

Hitting star of the week for us was Dave Schneider, who went 8/18 with 3 HRs. That brings his season total to 23 homers this year.

Dave Lippert is stuck on win #199 right now. After winning 5 consecutive starts, he hasn't been able to get #200 in a couple outings and was roughed up by Los Alamos.

The two big call-ups had mixed results. CJ Thompson had three scoreless appearances out of the bullpen, but Roseboom did little despite getting ample playing time.

Israel Morales is back this week, hopefully that will give us a boost.

Watching replays of Seattle and the scores of New York this morning. In game 1, Seattle wins 8-0 in Batavia. I then looked at the two losses by New York, and was feeling good....and then the Pilots lost the rest while New York won three of four. Seattle is now five back in the Wild Card and nine back in the Bock. That'll do pig.

When looking at the season long numbers, the Pilots are 11th in the IL in runs scored and 7th in runs allowed. The fact that we were still somewhat "in it" was a lot of luck. Our +3 in the PYT is tops in the Import League. Just 10-23 over the last two months. All that trading finally caught up to us.

Going to call up some youngsters and just wait until the off-season. KEEP AN EYE on the waiver wire over these upcoming sims... I will be letting a lot of playoff eligible veterans hit waivers to try and save a few bucks.

The IL Top 6 are basically locks at this point. At least the DL will be fun to watch.

A 4-2 week is a good sim for us. We took 2 of 3 from Brad, which is all I can hope for. Death Valley kept pace, so we're still only separated by one game with two games in DV this sim and two in CHI next sim. Those four games will likely decide the division. Lovera is out for a week, so we'll be without our closer for the two games in Death Valley, which hurts.

Sorry to see Seattle throwing in the towel. It makes sense, but I was really rooting for Pat to make another playoff run.

Pawtucket 3-3. Was really awful losing back to back games 0-2 at home to Hartford. Just never found that consistent lineup all season long.

Some possible hope???........not much. For the first time in a very very longtime I don't have to look at the standings and see Pawtucket third from the bottom in the DL. Also we play Syracuse 7 times in the next 13 games so who knows maybe we can get some type of momentum??? Again hope is slim to nil.

In the end we were 19 games below .500 June 25th and we just couldn't recover.

Side note: Its really odd the Ale teams are playing below expectations while the Lager all seems to be overachieving PTY wise. Happens, just not sure I've seen it all within divisions like this before.

Huge, huge 4-2 sim. Have to give huge props to my entire pitching staff for consistently improving as the season has gone on, and to John Cardona for carrying my entire offense. I figured I was screwed when Briseno was out for a few weeks, but Cardona has hit .303/.361/.574 since the All Star break. His 6 homers in 7 games a few sims ago essentially saved us when we were falling out of the race.

Our three game set with Toronto next sim is crucial. Have a chance to further cement a playoff spot (and home field for the first round) with a good showing.

I think even without all the trades, we were the 7th best team in the IL this year. Maybe even 8th or 9th. Our 1st half schedule was very favorable with matchups and more home games. We still have a goal of 82-80 but I'm going to play the youth.

29-42 on the road... Enough said.

Our season long struggle with stranding small villages on base bit us again as we played just well enough to prove we're a 0.500 team.

                      D.J. Smitson's first three hits...3 home runs.

I may be voting for the DH sooner than later.

I like the comparison but because Healey is right handed, I would say he's more Paul Moliter.
