4-3 for week and our play for the week just about matches the talent I feel we have on the team.

-A lot of our young guys on the team seemed to have problems with their control last week but I guess these things happen, especially when there isn't much else to play for other than pride.

-D.J. Gosser hit 3 more bombs this past sim, to put him just 3 home runs and 3 RBI off the pace for an IL Triple Crown. When your team is struggling, why not root for your guys to make the monumental achievements?

-I know I'm probably jinxing him just by posting this, but Tom Monk (CL) hasn't given up an ER since July 8th. The "Artist" has really embraced his new role as our closer only blowing one save all year. Hopefully he makes the All-Star team one day as he'd be one of the only players in Bulldogs' history to be voted to the All-Star team at every level of professional play.

-Looks like old man Jimmy Mattoon (SP) still has it. He has a positive WAR and a 135 ERA+ and I'm glad to see him having this kind of success at this point of his career.

Trade Deadline sim tomorrow - Big Changes in Seattle

Three trades sending four Pilots out of town and then open the sim in Chicago to face the Blues in a battle for the final Wild Card spot. The Blues are trending up and the Pilots continue their 2nd half fade but I hope we can make it an interesting series. Then after a travel day, the Pilots head to Denver.

Last time we traded away a bunch of pieces the Pilots responded by going 5-1. Probably won't happen again...right?

I'm making some moves in the outfield this sim. Going more defensive out there, hopefully it doesn't come back to bite me. I'm a little nervous about this one.

I feel left out, not making any moves.

I didn't want to trade Schneider before he was my best player. But, Evans would be a great pitcher for me going forward.

I don't figure letting you know will affect anything. It's not like you weren't going to try to score runs, and now you are. Wait, that wasn't your plan was it? Oh man, I hope I didn't screw this up.

But now we are REALLY trying.

Good luck tomorrow. I full anticipate a sweep by the Blues and Seattle to never hold a Wild Card spot again.

I highly doubt we sweep you, but it would be nice to win the series. We'll need it because after that series we go on our last big road trip of the season, spanning the next 12 games. If we can get through that in decent shape we'll be looking alright heading into September.

As dramatic as it sounds, this sim will have long term implications for how our outfield is set up for years to come.
