    News from Maine

    * Forgot to toggle the "Use seven-day lineups" checkbox after the All-Star break. Damn.

    * Another shutout for Dave Toste, who now has twice as many as any other pitcher. Back-to-back shutouts. Three in his last four starts.

    * Zachary Smith is getting closer...

Lol go "one man rotation" and see how that work out.

Pawtucket 4-3, 6.5 games back. Least we're in some amount of range?

Sorry Z. Guess my file didn't go through because my DFA is empty?

I assume Barrick was the one left on it. All good.

We are maddeningly mediocre this year. We start the week with a huge blown save by Gerlach! We also continue our horrific play versus Hartford (3-9)... Ugh!

            Record by month...

Record in April 10-11, .476 PCT
Record in May 11-16, .407 PCT
Record in June 15-12, .556 PCT
Record in July 12-12, .500 PCT

That sums it up. We could use a good stretch in the next few weeks to try to sneak into the wild card.

6-1 Week to recover the 10 games ground with Indy and regaining the DL #1 Seed... We still cold, but playing great defense. What about Driggs with a Top-3 BLB ERA this year?? Oh my God, sweet history for the UFA.

The Top Pitchers rankings have an anti-Maine bias.

Dave Toste leads the league in shutouts and is second in ERA and WAR, only 0.1 back of the leader.

William Eddy was basically a superhero in last year's postseason.

We have the best starting pitching by ERA in the league.

And we are not represented on the Top Pitchers list.

                Anti-Maine bias!

                  2-1 @ Philly, 1-3 @ Baltimore

Now just two games up on Death Valley and 2.5 on Windy City for the Bock. Seattle hosts DVS for three this week.

I signed a pair of LH OFs in Jimmy Rosema and Tom Churchill. I'm desperate for offense.

Edwin Guerrero is the man. That is all.

4-3. Feast or famine for my lineup, as we scored 22 runs in the 4 wins, and were shutout in all 3 losses. Not really sure why that seem to be the case for us.

We're a game back in the Stout still as the logjam continues. Any sim could see us go up to the lead or down to 4th pretty easily. I keep thinking that someone (hopefully me) will separate a bit, but so far it's not happening.

We needed to bounce back like that. I think we're going to hold steady at the deadline and hope that Roberto Jaime gives us a boost when he returns in 2 SIMs.

6-1 for our first dominant sim of the year and for the first time all year, the team looked like a cohesive unit out there.

Gosser continues to put up MVP numbers but more than that, we got good performances from All-Star outfielder, Jarod Farrow and waiver pick up, "Rocket" Dicks. Jimmy Cooper looks like he's going to show up during the second half of the season again, as he completed a 7K, 0 BB, complete game shoutout of the Bock-leading Pilots.

July was our first month above .500 and with a little over two months to go, we are 9.5 back of the final wildcard. It's not likely that we make up that kind of ground, but it is encouraging to see the guys have not thrown in the towel yet.

This is the first in a while that I've had more legit talent in the minors, than I have space for st the BLB level. #firstroundmatters
