Decent, if not exciting sim. We split with NY, which leads us to another series against the hated Bats before traveling to Batavia. This could be a rough sim coming up for us.

2-2 hosting Baltimore, but DVS/WC both went 2-2 as well so still hold a three game lead in the Bock.

Ethan Stuart has a sore back and will miss two weeks. I wish it was a career ender...

Rookie OF C.J. Phillips made his debut this week and went 4/11 with 4 walks and a SB for a .897 OPS while playing CF.

Good sim. Jarrod "Definitely better than Dave Toste" Syversten continues his awesome season. Everyone else did enough to take 3/4 from arguably the best team in Dallas.

More amazing is Joey York. This kid might just be a superstar if he could learn how to field the damn ball. I hated doing it but he destroyed A ball pitching this year so I made an exception and promoted him to AA even tho he's only 19, and he responded with a .375/.474/1.000/1.474 where he crushed 3Hr. My scout has him at 6/6/6/4/6 and he's certainly playing like that. I'm not afraid to promote from AA, because Zimmer and Skolfield both made the jump and have been fine, 19 is a bit young but if he's going to produce thenukbers he's been. It's a possibility that he makes it to the show before he's 20

All-star game/week behind us once again. We split 4 at DVS with Evans and Pulido pulling in the 2 Ws. Two 2 run games and two 1 run games. Still boggles my mind that our team ERA of 2.81 is only good enough for 3rd in the league.

Toste tossed his BLB-leading third shutout of the season on Saturday.

The rotation is Windy City is pretty remarkable.

And pitching stats in New York shouldn't really count.

Yet he still doesn't have as many quality starts....

                          2-2 while facing the Reign.

It may just be wishful thinking, but the boys don't look so bad of late. Seems like we've shaken the trauma of losing our ace and finally settling in as a decent enough, .500 quality team. It's been a while since we played well anywhere outside of Phillips Field, and it feels good just to split an away series.

I keep waiting for Gosser's other shoe to drop but apparently, he only owns one shoe right now. He doesn't seem to realize that he shouldn't be as good as Owens and I'm good with that.

I've also noticed that despite his terrible ERA, Jimmy Cooper has only allowed 3 ER in each of his last six starts. Zack Cook has an 81% quality start percentage and 2 CG. Then add in the strong start by rookie hurler, Jerrod Blick and the Matoon-esque consistency of lefty starter, Jaylin Byrd and I think we've settled down enough to have a chance to ruin someone's playoff run this year.

Baltimore will be a much better team in the 2nd half. Much more favorable schedule going forward.

Bats hit the road to take 3 of 4 from Denver. That takes us to the top spot in the Wildcard chase. However, we still lost a game to Batavia who will not lose another game for the rest of the season.

We pitched really well and hit ok, so it was good series for us. Just need to keep playing like we are right now and we'll be right there when the playoffs come.

In the minors, Dave Koehler threw a one hit shutout and has pushed his way up to #10 in the Prospect rankings.
