A third winning week in a row to start the year in Washington, though it was just 4-3. But, nothing to be too upset about at 11-7, a half game out of first place. We're not scorching hot by any means, but solid results nonetheless.

Tom Abrams picked up our second consecutive IL Player of the Week after Tristan Moody won it last week. I'm still surprised by Abrams. I never expected this much out of him when I traded for him, but he's been very good for us.

It's encouraging that we're leading the IL in most of the hitting categories despite Jamie Urmson doing nothing so far. The younger crowd has picked up the slack nicely, and maybe we're not going to just fall off a cliff if he's gone at year's end.

        QUESTION:

Dropkick Carroll will be healthy this sim. He hasn't pitched in about a year, but that should be a nice boost for the rotation. I can just put him in the minors to let him make a rehab start, right?

Yes, minors for a rehab start.

A 4-2 sim guarantees us a .500 April for the first time since I joined this league. I'm happy about that. We threw two shutouts this sim, and got shutout twice. Not sure how I feel about that.

David Teel is on a tear, batting .455 with a .636 SLG and 1.091 OPS. He's a modern day Babe Ruth.

Aiden Johnson is getting the bump to AAA after posting a 1.00 ERA in 36 innings of AA ball this year. He also pitched competently in AA ball last year. It's been really fun watching this kid develop. I was nervous drafting a 17 year old with the 5th overall pick, but he's turning into a guy that should be ready for the BLB at 22 or 23 and pitches in the top half of our rotation for years to come. You can't ask for more than that.

A 5-2 SIM lift us to the Top of the lager. We are hitting very well and whenever Orbon, Cinelli and Collins decide to comeback from their hollidays this group should be scary.

Last year's 1st Round pick CF O.P. Williams made his debut in AA and while having a +1,3 ZR he did hit for over .350 AVG. The future replacement of Herrera is playing far beyond expectations in this 2019. I hope he will be ready by the September call up of 2020 to get the full time starter in 2021.

Come back to Earth this sim going 2-4. At least we managed 1 win against Denver this time, hope we don't have to face them for a while now. In the words of Dean Wormer, "I hate those guys"!

                    3-3 sim.

                    Denver BC pitching is legit.

Those extra innings losses to LA killed us this SIM. Pleased with our hitting but definitely need to add some bullpen arms.

Hit me up if you're looking to deal a quality arm in the pen.

                        A 4-2 sim is nice.

Jimmy Lewis is 27 innings in without anyone crossing the plate.

The team to beat in the IL right now.

Jimmy Lewis joins the list of players I just don't understand.

I don't understand him either. He's an example of how there's more under the hood than 1. Can he strike you out? 2. Can he keep you from hitting extra base hits / the ball hard? 3. Can he keep you off the bases?

I think some guys just have the right mix of pitch ratings, ground ball percentage, ratings and intangibles.

Or he will give up 9 runs in his next start and proceed to have a terrible season on his way to an early retirement.
