This is the strangest draft that I can remember...and we are only in Round Two!

      • We go with 16 year old, Marv Glickman from Bowling Green High School.

I can't get a good gauge on anyone, so I'm trusting my scout. He thinks he could be an offensive force with some refinement and could eventually hit .290.

I look at his history and makeup and I figure that his speed and power are real. He hit well enough in high school, but we've all had tons of guys that hit well in high school but didn't make it out of AA.

Here's to hoping for the best out of Marv.

You're not kidding. I can only imagine how stressful draft time is in real life.

My scout has pretty good ratings (I think two of his traits/ratings are Legendary), but there wasn't much chatter around the guys I took so I was paranoid that I made three very bad choices

Is he nicknamed Dash for his speed or for his propensity for snorting cocaine off his car dashboard?

              • With 2.24, the Pilots select P Dave Williams out of Duke University.

OSA has his potential 4-6-8 as a SP. He ranks as the #37 prospect in the NCAA. He probably moves to relief where his 4 stamina and 8 hold runners will be very useful. He's pretty far along in his development and might be in the BLB before seasons end if needed.

Both guys I considered at 47 but I ended going with the guy my scout liked.

                        • I went with Pat Buerger at 3.1. My scout only has him at 5 stuff but with his pitch ratings and velocity I'm siding with OSA. Starting the last 2 games killed his stat line for this season but I think he could make a good BLB reliever. His control is a concern but he didn't allow a run in games he pitched < one inning.

In five years Kansas City is going to have the best bullpen this league has ever seen.

                            • I like the pick a lot. Buerger was a guy that I wanted and would have taken had I been able to trade up. I think he could be the best reliever to come out of this draft.

                              I like KC's draft a lot.

                                Agreed!
And I'm liking it like that so far. It'll be interesting to see which scouts swung and missed.

There are prospects that people on this board were raving about whom my scout disliked greatly.
Considering my guy is in the minority, he may be looking for work next year.
