  • Very pleased to land Oregon State SS C.J. McNichol. My plan is to select all the C.J. Mc's in this draft!

    • New Orleans 2.17 selection of Jamie Conner was at the top of my board. He reminds me a lot of Robby Duffy.

Was really hoping he would fall to 2.23. Nice pick.

      • But I thought that Dave Koehler was the new Robby Duffy?

        There can only be one.

        • Unfortunaly, Dusty Black was auto selected by Los Alamos. Went with Uchiyama in this spot.

I see Robby Duffy everywhere. I miss him.

I think he was the best remaining hitter in the draft. He was top on my board for awhile now but my top four hitting prospects are all 3B so I knew I wasn't going to draft him.

Nah. Have confidence in your selections. The fun part is seeing if these guys turn into BLB players.

                      • I'm ok with my only pick so far, I think Jimmy Harris is worth the risk. I'll be watching Applegate's development, but I'm not yet kicking myself for not picking him.

I wish I had jumped on Batavia's offer on their second round picks, or been able to move up somewhere. There's still a couple players I'd like to draft, and now I'm sure I'll have to watch Pat draft them.

The worst is when you are trying to decide between multiple prospects. After finally making the decision, the other two players you were considering go as the following picks.

I selected 2.16 SS C.J. McNichol. The following three picks, SP Jamie Conner, CF Dusty Black and 3B Jiro Uchiyama were all Top Three on my board (not in that order.)

Just seems like there's a huge difference in how my scout viewed the guys I picked versus what all of your scouts think and I'm afraid I made a huge misstep, which wouldn't be the best first draft to have lol.

There's a lot more difference of opinions between scouts now than there used to be when you were in the league before.

Maybe consider changing your scout? If hes an ability guy, hire a tools scout. Or the other way around if he is already a scout that favors tools.
