2019 Free Agency SIM 2 Complete - Next SIM Wed 11/9

I'm just excited to a Baltimore prospect in the Top Ten. I can't remember the last time we had a highly ranked player come through our system.

I hate you. Diaz was my only offseason target. Now I'll have to over pay for him in June when he's hitting .180 and I have to give you a second rounder

I'm glad you approve of the signing.

Diaz is a pretty good player. He's only a couple years removed from a DL DD and All-Star appearance. Plus, he doesn't seem to be too concerned with spending a lot of time on the bench. Not that's got to worry about that though. He's got real power which we lacked last year and I can even give him reps at 3rd base or 1st base from time to time.

BTW, did you know Jimmy Nash was available?

I'm mad at UMD. I'm not sure how in the hell I didn't offer Reyes.

          I'm definitely getting old.

You're not the only one. I saw the signing and immediately thought, "What was I doing?"

Made a point to remember his name when I was combing through the upcoming FA list and subsequently/completely forgot about him. Fuck.

Well we missed out on Diaz but we were able to secure someone who we believe will be a key contributor for us this season.

We were awarded Ted Hall via waiver claim. Now, Hall has had quite the history since being drafted 5th overall in the 2009 draft.

Since then - he left a year to play professional golf, has faced injuries, made the all star game and won 65 games in the BLB as a starter.

He's started 181 of his 181 games in the BLB ... but he will not be a starter for us.

He fits the mold of the type of pitcher we're looking for in the back of the bullpen.

Size - The 6'7 235lb right hander joins the 6'6 Pat Falvey, 6'6 Tom Bailey, 6'7 Ron Kleinman to form a large, hard throwing and hopefully intimidating back end.

Stuff - as a starter, my scout sees him at 5/6/5, but the position change to RP saw him go to a 6/6/5. Hall features a hard sinker that ranges from 97-99, and he has a plus slider to accompany that pitch.

Experience - a veteran of parts of 7 BLB seasons, Hall brings a strong work ethic, post season experience and invaluable game experience to help the young arms on the team develop.

We missed out on our main target, but we may have been able to make an addition that helps our team in a big way.

Happy to pick up Jimmy Peller- I've had an absolute void against lefties in the outfield on my squad. He'll be a glorified platoon player but I'm interested to see how this offense is going to look. I still have some money to spend but not sure what I'm gonna do with it just yet.
