Congrats to Sully! Taking a 65 win, 5th place club to 91 wins and the division champions is no easy feat. The team had a lot of talent but the signings and adjustments you made proved to be the difference. Definitely in the running for GM of the year.

It all fell apart for Seattle in the 6th inning. Dunham, who lead the IL in BB/9, starts the inning off with a five pitch walk to the pitcher. Then a sac bunt, out at 2nd. Groundball single. Three straight balls, walk. Bases loaded, one out. One run lead for the Pilots. Single. Single. Flyout. Double. Down 5-1. Ball game.

We had a two game lead going into the final three games and we lost two of three to a Windy City team that was resting players, then lose the Lonnie Coleman game with a Top 20 pitcher on the mound and at home. We had our chances and we blew it.

Things could be worse however... Because the game was a 5-1 rout, the relief pitchers used were players who aren't going to make the post-season roster. I had actually moved ace Felipe Vega to set-up for the game and luckily the manager/CPU was smart enough to not use him when we were down by so much. Having both my #1 and #2 pitchers tired for the start of the Wild Card round would have been devastating.

On to Philadelphia for a best of three Wild Card series. We split the season series 6-6. This is my first time in the Wild Card round with the new format, so that's fun. SS Dave Hallock is still hurt at 23% day to day and CF Dave Rauth is day-to-day 8% with a sprained ankle. Not sure what to do there.

Good luck, fellas. We rolled the dice and went with the rookie Stone based on his performances against Seattle this season. It paid off. He saved his best for last. Though not having our 1 or 2 didn't leave us many options. We juggled the pen a bit, and I was worried it would cost us, but luckily that wasn't the case.
