To suggest that I must be smoking grass to think the league leader in OPS and WAR is the best player in the league is in itself crazy.
I'm not going to argue this. I've made cases using stats in the past during award voting, to no avail.

If you want to vote against 40+ HR, 25 2B, 20 SB, +10~ ZR and 10 outfield assists, be my guest.

LOL at me for wanting to have a modern day Polo Grounds. I think the original version was like 298 to the right field pole.

Best OPS by a wide margin, including the top OBP mark. Tops in runs created per 27 and wins above replacement (WAR) by a meaningful amount, too.

And of course, he's a catcher, which makes the offensive performance even more valuable.

He somehow improved on his 2017 season.

Not to mentionMike Morla (4.9 WAR and solid counting stats)... Clearly not the winner this year, but with numbers that would be a clear favourite in many other years.

Do I win an award for most salary injured for the season? I wonder what the most has ever been.

This might be the only year I have a better record than the Dino's! It was tough being in your division.

Remember Baase sat out an entire season also. He's basically A-Rod but better.

Nope, it's good as well. The 2016 draft class was very strong.
