We're playing ourselves out of it, unfortunately. After a red hot June and July, we're 6-12 in August.

There's been a mistake, it seems. Travis Kemp appears to have actually hit the ball with some efficiency and authority this week. Might want to check the file and make sure it's not corrupt.

That's our season. I know when this franchise can't climb out of something.

Suddenly, our pitching can't pitch. Our bullpen continues to blow late leads. Our starters can't miss bats. And we've lost our closer to injury who also signed a new contract and figured he didn't need to be any good anymore.

Oh, well, we are still very young and have a lot of future, so 2019 will be exciting with everyone starting anew.

Time to experiment with some things. Might promote Pitchford. I have some weird faith in him doing a decent job up top.

5-2 sim is our best since JUNE 4th!

4-0 vs. Denver and 1-2 vs. Davenport.

Sorry Carlos, but I agree, that probably ends your season. It now looks like a seven team race for the two division spots and four wild cards... That is unless Death Valley can pull off something wild.

5-1 is our best sim in several months, so optimism is back in DC. I'm hoping that whatever we lost by dealing Haraguchi will be made up by our improved defense. It's too early to tell if there's any difference, but at least we've won a few games. We should be a better defensive team with Nelson at SS and other players shifted to more natural positions.

But, we'll need some people to come through offensively. Israel Morales has been asleep since some time in June, so that's not helping. This week though, we hit 11 homeruns as a team, led by Jamie Urmson and Tom Abrams.

Our two rookies, CJ Turnbow and Roger Villasenor, continue to play well. Rod Sedivec's injury might have opened up the IL New Brew race, and in my 100% unbiased opinion, those two guys are deserving of some consideration if they can keep this up.

We have 7 road games coming up next sim (a 10 game road trip in total), so I'll be back to my usual, disappointed posts on Saturday.

Still treading water. Had a winning sim, but I need a few 6-1 weeks.
It hasn't helped that I lost Flores, Douglas and Baldwin all within a week of each other.
Baldwin and Flores are back, but I need Douglas in there.
2016, draft pick, Pat Waigand has fit in admirably hitting .375 in his place, but that's not going to last.

Ledbetter is absolutely crushing for me.

                        Since coming over he's hit .274, (.612 SL%, .931 OPS) with 19 HRs, 46 RBI in only 56 games.
He's been carrying this team offensively.

I think I finally found a spot for Thomas.
After struggling mightily all season and shifting him anywhere from 3rd, 4th and 6th, I made him our lead-off hitter where he's hitting .380.
It's a very small sample size, but I hope he can continue to produce at the top of the order.

Back to the usual 3-3 SIM this year, not complaining against 2 contenders with Romero and Moore down by injury.

Moore will miss the reminder of the regular season, and that will kick-off Barnardīs career, this guy is doing so well... 2 weeks starting in Dallas with 0.4 WAR already, Romero will be back against Kansas City and that will do injury ways (Hopefully) for the rest of the month.

We must sweep KC as our Schedule turns brutal to finish August against Morgantown on the road and hosting NO. We can finish those series as a clear favourites to win the Division or in a completely mess with Mor and NO all over us...

                            Canīt wait!

The extension Indianapolis reached with Jimmy Cook is a great one for the team.

                              Four years, $42.2 million total.
