And Pawtucket is in the black cash wise ..be it only temporary.

Good sim on the field , but a HUGE hit to the starting rotation as Nygaard is out of the rest of the season. My scout keeps telling me to start RP Morikawa so guess we will rotate him and Salzman the rest of the season and go from there.

Happy to have Dunn back also for this push.

My team still finding ways to impress. Hit five home runs in a game and still lose.

      GREAT JOB GUYS!

Pretty happy with this sim. 5-1 including taking 2 out of 3 against Denver. Looks like Slack and Anthony are both taking to their new home well. Feliciano has been performing as expected on our DFA. The club is excited to get a captain on the team, and combined with our 5-1 sim and now winning record spirits are very high in the clubhouse.

        Things that have me optimistic:

Ratley and Ditto have combined for 8 HRs in 169 plate appearances. They replaced Slack and Anthony, who had 16 HRs in 809 plate appearances. Small sample size, but Ratley and Ditto are only going to get better and the one thing we were really lacking is power hitting.

Joey 'Spud' Conway got called up to replace Lovera as our closer for the remainder of the season. In one sim he picked up 3 saves and a win. It's just one sim, but I'm excited to see that he at least has the potential to sit down some batters at the BLB level.

I've got 2 starters with ERAs below 3 and the rest are below 4. They're pitching well, but more than that this tells me that my defense really has improved since pulling Anthony out of the starting lineup. With a 6 man rotation that features 5 starters under the age of 25 I think we're finally getting to where I was hoping to be in this category.

We actually have more runs scored than runs allowed for the season. I don't think that this has ever been the case this late in the season since I took over this organization.

My player update report this week showed 5 of my minor leaguers with improving potentials. It's possible that, despite my starting to feel good about my team at the BLB level, we have guys on the way that are going to be improvements.

I'm legit nervous to have Kopp pitching against us for the rest of his career.

          What a pitcher.

Took 2 of 3 against Los Alamos before losing 2 of 3 to Windy City.

Great starts to their Denver careers for McCrory and Slack. Reyes didn't take off but I'm sure he will be fine.

Still getting quality pitching. Offense is up from 7th in runs to tied for 6th. Let's see where this takes us.

No progress. We remain 4.5 back of the last wild card.

            Dave Porter is burnt toast.

He has 24 walks in 27 2/3 innings this year.

He once issued 24 walks in an entire 223 2/3 inning season.

Control was the only thing he had going for him. I pulled him from the scrap heap more than once.

1-2 @ Death Valley, 1-2 vs. Los Alamos. Now .5 back in the Bock, with Windy City nipping out our heels for the #2 spot three back. The collapse continues.

The ever revolving outfield produced mixed results. LF Hidetoshi Haraguchi was great in his debut for Seattle: 7/18, 3 2B, BB, K for a .977 OPS. He is going to have to carry this lineup. Unfortunately, CF J.R. Lowe got hurt again and will be out for a month. This will be his third trip to the disabled list in 2018 and he also was suspended 10 games earlier this year for a fight.

Okay, I've been playing this game for 40 seasons, and I think these are the weirdest splits I've ever seen.

Joey Reeves, right-handed hitting slugging first baseman at AAA.

OSA and my scouts agree he has equal ratings vs. LHP and RHP.

In 42 plate appearances against RHP, he is batting .364 with a 1.106 OPS.

In 43 plate appearances against LHP, he is batting .114 with a .352 OPS.

A small sample size, of course.

But I've never noticed anything like it. Remember, he bats right-handed and those are his splits.

Yep, he's seen the mound for the last time in Chicago. He served his purpose as an emergency reliever for the last couple of seasons while we waited for some guys to develop in the minors. Now that those players are hitting the BLB and Porter's skills continue to decline he's not going to be making it back onto the active roster.

With the Conway call up Windy City now has 4 pitchers on our active roster that we drafted in 2014. It was a good year.

We had a nice week, but I can't wait until Opening Day 2019. This will be the most contested Spring Training I've ever had. We have to pay Bobby Marrero and make a decision whether to trade Willie Fajardo. Then there's executing the options on guys like Santana, Zurita and Trottier.

                          Rotation

                          SP Willie Fajardo (29)
                          SP Dave Calvert (24)
                          LSP Aiden Gay (27)
                          SP Dave Stephens (25)
                          -------
                          SP Jimmy Maggio (24)
                          LSP Ian Von Gorder (24)
                          LSP Dante Vigueras (22)
                          SP Jimmy Stough (24)

                          Bullpen

                          MR Ron Danielson (24)
                          MR CJ Heartfield (26)
                          MR Eddie Hoffman (27)
                          MR Jon Jones (27)
                          MR Steve Squires (26)
                          MR Pat Matson (29)
                          SU Gil Pellicano (29)
                          CL BJ Swisher (24)

                          C Ed Lehnhoff (21)
1B Dave Kendrick (22), Jamie August (25), Zach Lawrence (24)
2B Tom Ragosta (25) and Pat Decker (22)
                          SS Erik Jackson (24)
3B JD Harper (24) and Jimmy Centofanti (24)
LF Bobby Marrero (25), Jarrod Brown (25), Dave Malden (25)
CF JP Knappe (24), Wu Han Lao (27), Joey Kane (22)
RF JR Rhoads (23), Brendon Lanoie (22)

Then by September 2019 these guys should be ready out of Reno:

                          IF RJ Marshall (21)
                          IF Willie de Leon (21)
                          IF JD Bumgardner (22)
                          RF Ian McCallister (20)

I'm optimistic we can start another run after such a disappointing season this year - things just never clicked and it'll be strange sitting out of the playoffs this year after trying to keep things rolling along.

I definitely need a lefty closer and probably a bridge C to platoon with Lehnhoff until some of my young Cs with potential hit the bigs in 2021. Other than that we have lots of young options. I just hope I'm right and there's a star or three in that bunch.

You guys and Denver aren't far away. I expect Los Alamos to be the team to beat the next few years. Sully has a great roster and experience winning to win the Bock the next 3-5 years outright.
