3-3 week pushes us to 35-28.
We have a chance at a huge series split in Wilmington on Monday, and Travis Kemp will make his Millers debut in his old stomping ground to try and help us get the split.
The next day, SC Zhang will make his BLB debut against the Maine Guides at 7:05 pm. There's a lot riding on his performance, and if he's truly as good as advertised, he's a major addition.
The other major addition has enjoyed hitting in front of Jamie O'Hearn. Milt Stoll has slugged .300 /.360/.483 ... .844 since joining the club on April 30th. In that time we have gone 28-17, which is good for second best in that span behind Wilmington.
Another guy who's been a huge part of our turn around has been Atsushi Abe, who was our biggest offseason signing (lol).
Abe had an atrocious April, he went 0-2 with a 9.64, and walked 10 while only striking out 13.
Since Stoll joined on the 30th, Abe has gone 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA, and a beautiful 26-6 K/BB ratio.
Pat Falvey
Falvey has thrived in the pen, where he's been used as a closer, setup - man, middle man, any role that has been thrown his way. His 98-100mph cutter has been a lethal weapon. This season, he's got a 2.23 ERA, has yet to allow a HR, and has struck out 47 in 36 IP. He's currently projected for 3.2 WAR and 121 K's in 90 innings.
Jamie O'Hearn
O'Hearn wont be stealing 30 bags this year (my decision) but he's still found way to make improvements to his game. The Power that he showed last season (38HR 106 RBI) has improved, and his pace has him expected to top the 40 HR plateau for the first time in his young career. The two most impressive areas hes improved in are his strikeouts (K% '17 21% -> '18 17%) and his defense in CF ('17 ZR -0.1, '18 ZR +3.8)
He should be in consideration for stout slugger again this year.
@ Wilmington (1), @ Maine (3), vs New Orleans (3) up ahead this week. Monster week to test our wills.
