Injuries galore in the minor league system on my end- my top two OF prospect Brendan Wilkes and Victor Romero are out for 3-4 weeks a piece and 2B Eric Bergmann is going to be out for a couple of weeks. Dave Kauffman is going to also be skipping a turn in the rotation and surprise, suprise Fred Schubert is hurt again. He was not producing at all this year so not a huge loss.

Anyway, split a 4 game set with LAM and then swept 3 from Windy City to move above .500. Hopefully the injury bug fades for this team because its making roster management kinda tough.

Pawtucket 6-1 or something like that. Starting to build that lead.

Sorry Hartford but your issue is pitching not offense.(well at least as of last week) Still, like the trades.

Now for more important issues..... why the HELL has C Dave Piekarski not overtaken 'Vodoo" for position and top players list. Uggh!!! Its really a credit to to how good Davila really is that the play of Piekarski has been over shadowed the past decade. GREAT PLAYER Z, but he's pissing me off.

Ugh, getting crushed by injuries this year. Somehow we're holding it together for the moment, but we're in trouble.

Yeah, but up until now, youve never even mentioned Hartford. I think that says something.

They've had an interesting rivalry over the years. Voodoo's been better. Piekarski's also been great and has more rings. Nothing to be ashamed of there.

Voodoo's the best catcher ever at this point, I would guess. Matt posed the question a couple seasons ago, and I said "not yet."

You could still pick Kubota if total career value is your preference; hard to beat a catcher who plays from age 19 to age 37.

But combining peak and career value, I think Davila comes out on top.

We've had a lot of great, memorable catchers in the BLB. Maybe more than at any other position except closer.

Our minor leagues have been hit hard, especially the AA club in Bar Harbor. It's been one injury after another.

Basically lost Ernie Lucas for the season.
Was hitting over .300 and on pace for 25 dingers.

Pitching has sucked (been better in May though), my hitting is sporadic and now I lose one of my top bats.
Thomas needs to pick his game up too. Gets a new contract and then puts it in neutral.

On the bright side, I messed up my rotation settings and Edgar Luna was given a start.
                  Went 8 innings with only 1 earned-run.
May have to take a look at keeping him in the starting rotation.

I'm not even sure the word 'putrid' could be used in describing his April start.
                  13 earned-runs in 5.0 innings pitched.
This is after earned a 2.94 ERA in 2017.
But he's settled in nicely in May, giving up only 2 runs in 11.1 innings.

It would be nice if he could turn into a nice surprise as a starter.

Fernando Hernandez in Carolina in 2018 makes me sad.

It was a 4-3 week for the Bats, all on the road. A slow start to the week in Los Alamos, followed by a split in Windy City and capped by a sweep of Seattle. So, that's the good part. I'll take any winning week on the road.

Robby Castro finally had a solid week at the plate after a slow start. My bullpen was pretty lights out this week, and they had been struggling lately. So, it wasn't bad on the field.

But, Ed Carroll is now gone for the rest of the year with Tommy John surgery. Tom Abrams is out for 5-6 weeks, and he was off to a great start. Add them to my starting catcher, Tristan Moody (out for season) and backup OF Javy Pimienta (4 months). We're running low on bodies at this point.

I'm not really sure who I'll call up from AAA at the moment. Maybe Villasenor will come up to fill the rotation, with CJ Turnbow in the lineup somewhere. If so, then that's 2 of my top 4 prospects making their debuts (and top 60 overall, according to OSA). It's as good a time as any to see what they can do, I guess.

Gotta hand it to the Baltimore fans, they are taking this in stride. Still coming out to the games although we are terrible and even after we traded Murillo.

We went from 100 FI down to...100 FI even after our fan interest supposedly "crashed" following the trade.

                        We've got a some diehards.

Perez blew a game and we missed out on winning 2 of 3 against Philly. Still a 4-3 week, splitting at Batavia, sweeping Carolina, is a really good sign for this squad.

I think we are at the point where we can start believing that this is for real. The pitching has not let up, though the offense still worries me. Issue is I don't want to add massive salary for the bats I'm interested in, or give up my future.

I think we stay put for now unless we really start feeling the pressure and we can actually win something more than the division. But I've already decided I'm not going all in for this season alone. We've got recruits coming to solidify first base, the outfield and infield.

Patience. If this is merely a winning season then I'm good with that.

I love seeing Lerma play so well for you. I always liked him and hoped he could someday hit like he is in 2018, even for only a little while.

And your pitching, oh man, those guys are dealing in your rotation. 1.89 Starters' ERA! Damn!
