  • The Preston pick is perfect.

In case you guys missed it, Baltimore drafted in the third round a left-handed hitting infielder who had a 1.153 OPS his last year in college while batting .341 with 20 HR and 58 RBI in 48 games.

Expand those numbers from 48 games to 144 games, and you get a .341 average with 60 HR and 174 RBI.

And again, he is a left-handed hitter who will play for Baltimore.

            • 3-5-5 isn't that bad! A 4 or 5 at a corner position will get playing time.

It's good enough to get playing time and bad enough to field poorly in the process of playing.

                • I finally picked again. Took Zion Williams, who's playing 1B for Texas A&M but is headed for the outfield for me, where I think he's a good fielder.

Wilmington fired off right after me with a guy I was looking at - AJ Dooley. Listed as a closer, but he starts in college (and can keep starting) with an 8 for control by OSA. I'll be watching that one.

                      • So, imagine my surprise when I got home from the weekend to see that I had drafted three straight 1Bs after I left. Yay me. Not only that, but only one of them has any skill in the field at all. Extra yay me.

There was a year I had to auto a few picks and came back to a draft with 4 or 5 catchers. It was glorious.

Not one made it past AA.
(I think it was this league. I'll have to check to be sure)

                            Thanks.
My scout was iffy on him, but I like his stats and ratings. I'm hoping he can be a really good defensive CFer while providing a bit of bat.
His personality traits worry me though.

                                FIFTH year.
Shouldn't he be a doctor by now?

I had to look at his personality traits and sure enough, his intelligence is Low.

But doggumet, he had a great senior-senior season. Great numbers.

It'll be fun to see how he'll progress.
