    • With Pick 3.3 we land Dave Rizer.

My scout has him as a 6 6 3 4 7. He also plays a steady first base. He's a bit of a reach, but I like the 7 potential Ks, with the 6 contact and 6 gap power.

        Thanks.

I think Olivas can really pitch. He's been one of the best in the Cape Cod League, posting a 2.69 ERA in a league where the average ERA is 6.38.

He has good velocity already with the frame to add a little more.

He's quite developed already, which is a good thing because it means he'll arrive sooner, though it also suggests his strong CCBL performances might be in part due to him being farther along in his development than the hitters he faced.

He has two above-average pitches and a solid changeup in his repertoire. He throws a good amount of ground balls.

        Solid intangibles.

He threw a no-hitter with ten strikeouts last year. That's cool.

I don't know what I might have in Olivas but I've been tracking him throughout this draft. He was someone I looked at in the first round.

He has a nice looking bat and glove at first. A lot to like there. I was hoping to see a stronger performance from him, but then if it had been there, he probably doesn't last this long in the draft.

He reminds me of a left-handed hybrid of Frank Zamora and Dave Willis, who were teammates on the 2010 Guides.

Both were first basemen who could hit for a pretty good average.

Rizer looks to have Zamora's power to the gaps and Willis's defensive skills and ability to avoid strikeouts.

                            • Pawtucket drafts SP Yoshio Kamiya.

Been a starter, but those days are over. Scout likes him with closer potiental though I see him as a setup / heavy middle RP. Plus pitch POT on the slider and like all my picks 17.

Did I mention how losing the rule V really changes my view on drafting ??
