I said when I drafted him that I thought Thompson was a first round talent and I felt fortunate to get him where I did. Obviously he had huge injury concerns and basically no stats to judge him on, but I like what my scout and OSA said, along with this rankings on the Top Players lists for our NCAA level.

So far he's looking good in single A. I don't plan on keeping him there too long based on his ratings, but I need to see him actually pitch for a while before moving him along.

As for catcher, I like Ethan Page in my system a little bit. Not sure he's ever top 100 material, but he's coming along ok for a 6th round pick.

I'm not sure how I talked myself out of him at 2.1... I had a lot of luck in the past drafting collegiate pitchers with significant injuries, Travis DuFour and Troy Hanback.

He had two major arm injuries, plus a major setback, and literally only threw one inning in college — an inning in which he walked six batters.

        That's how.

It was a 4-3 week for Washington, so that's 3 winnings sim to start the season. 11-7 isn't overwhelming, but it's good enough to keep pace near the top of the IL. As long as Morales, Haraguchi and Urmson keep hitting, I think we'll eventually score more runs that we are now.

I'm still surprised by Tom Abrams. I didn't expect a ton at the plate when I traded for him, but he was a solid hitter last year. After an awful Spring Training, he's come roaring out of that gate, winning IL Player of the Week this sim. Hopefully he keeps it up.

              He's a nice player.

And I'm glad the guy I dealt him to clear room for, former top prospect Izzy Rivera, is also off to a good start.

Hey, he threw 1+ innings, thank you very much.

The pick was completely based on his ratings, and his place on my scout's draft list and Top Players lists.

Despite the injuries, he's not listed as Fragile, so I'm hoping it's just horrendous luck he got hurt in college.

Amazing how good Marco Lona still is at age 39.

Has anyone been that good, for that long, while only playing for one franchise?
