Jonathan Morales, on the other hand, is the Indianapolis outfielder I have always had a hard time getting a read on.

    * Former 11th overall pick who reached #3 on the top prospects list before his 2013 call-up.

    * 2013 DL Refreshing New Brew winner with 67 extra-base hits (including 31 homers), 84 RBI, 83 runs, and 19 stolen bases, totalling a 5.2 WAR.

    * Consistently good hitter when on the field (injuries have been a problem sometimes), though he's never made an All-Star team.

    * Great glove in the corner outfield positions (and can play center) but hasn't won a DWI.

    * He's been rated 4/6/5/3/4 fairly consistently the last few years, which isn't great, but he's still a very productive outfielder, especially once you include his glove and arm and baserunning.

    * He's made quite a bit of money in arbitration and is set to become a free agent this winter. What is he worth to teams? I'm interested to see.

He will ask Indy for too much to re-sign and will be let go. He will then sign with Baltimore and hit 30 HRs and win a DWI for a fraction of what he was asking to play for the Clowns.

Also, Maine added former Bull, ... "BC" (?), Miller, Duke, and Whaler Jamie McInturf.

Our scouting team and OSA think he can still hit, especially against RHP.

His performance declined last year, but he was still a useful hitter.

At a price of only $1.75 million for the season, I figured he's worth a shot.

He'll split at-bats with Jaden Henderson.

Good signing. With a DH, I would have brought him back to Denver.

Entering the Off-Season, wasn't he asking like $20M per?

Hopefully he hasn't been sitting on the couch eating donuts the whole time.

                I believe so, yes.

Based on his physical, yes, that's more or less what he's been doing.

He didn't get memo that the IL DH rule didn't pass.

                  Probably should fire his agent.

Which explains why 2 catchers are expected to go top 5 this draft.

A really good 5-1 week. Last week, I mentioned three games I felt we should have won. Two blown saves and a 1-0 loss. Our pyth rec says we should be 14-5 but instead we are -3 (those three games, maybe?)

The pitching has been exceptional. Obviously too exceptional. Can't expect Lawrence, Reyna and Smith to essentially not give up runs all season. But we've been helped by Davis proving he's a legit very good pitcher, and Reed dismantling Davenport while looking average against Death Valley.

I won't get too excited. We are young. We've won half of our games against Davenport. But I do think May was a sign that the team is making the leap forward.

Also Pat Webb has awoken. That's trouble for everyone.

Pawtucket with a blah 3-3 sim. Guess your gonna have these weeks in 162 games.

Mason got his yearly injury. Only two weeks so not bad. Still were gonna be hurting with the O for a bit.

I think Kniseley, the kid I have cooking at single-A, could crack the list eventually.

I thought JJ Hanson in Orlando (A) would have too, but he's just not turning the corner.

You don't know what you're going to get some guys.

Indeed, some prospects take a while to get going for reasons that their ratings don't capture.

Others ... well, they never get there.

Barnard is killing it in AAA, the boy is ready for the Show. Romero's replacement will probably learn another position while in AAA.
