    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their third arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have three "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Despite more lucrative offers to IF Enrique Zurita and SP Gil Brummett, the veterans spurn the Pilots to sign with Death Valley and Maine, respectively. I wonder what the decision was based on...probably franchise history? Brewmaster's cups? Oh well. Good luck Z and UMD, I hope the January 1st re-scout is nice to them...

Seattle did bring in one player of note in P Tom Feeser to a $600K salary. My scout thinks he projects to "set-up man or rally stopper" while OSA has the lefty 6-5-7 potential. He turns 25 in a few weeks and will be a Spring Training invite. Signed two other minor league pitchers that aren't worthy of mentioning their names.

Biggest headline going to the New York Knights brining in Chinese import Guo-ning "Gimmick" Ching. You wouldn't think New York needs pitching help but according to the positional strength page the Knights rank just 17th in RP and 15th at CL. Does this signing mean last years closer Alejandro "Snake Hips" Portillo is moving the the rotation? Stay tuned.

Interesting developments in some of the big name free-agents... No one should be surprised but it looks like Baltimore is trying to bring back C Abraham Santana. California is the early favorite on SP Zack Reeves. Toronto leads the pack for SP Siu-Chung Zhang, surely the target of many teams.

Zurita and Squires are good gets for us. Zurita will start at SS vs lefties and Squires is #72 on the top prospects list. We have money to spend, so we will see how the rest of FA plays out.

Still looking for the right deal on Kemp and Perez.

Either the team option year should be $8 million or there should be a $2 million buyout.

But it's 6:22 AM here so I might be wrong.

Why would it need a buyout? Buyout should only be required if the TO is > than a guaranteed year.

It's 6:31 AM and I think Brad is right.

This is why I don't sim at this time.

                        Offered Ching $20 MM guaranteed.

But no one wants to lose for that price.

If it makes you feel any better, I offered $18 million guaranteed and he still spurned me for New York.
