    Baldwin out for 3 months!?!?
    NO!!!!!!

In more positive news I gained 1 game on the Sharks and Ernie Lucas is destroying the ball.
He's hitting .288 with 19HR's and 69 (hee hee) RBI.
I'm also impressed that he only has 42 K's.

My offense really floundered in July but seems to have found its legs in August.
Now if I could only get my pitching locked down. Losing Baldwin won't help.
But at least my bullpen has been pretty solid.
Since moving Almarez from the rotation to my closer as well as bump Manning down to my 8th inning setup guy, they've been rock solid.
Shimida continues to poop in his mouth far too often so I may have to find a better 7th inning guy.

Man, we are going to back up right out of the playoffs at this rate. We got completely derailed by that Tom Estes injury.

4-0 sim @ DVS and vs. PHI, but it easily could have been 0-4: 2-1, 1-0, 4-3, 2-0. The pitching duo of Fajardo and Calvert was impressive but our pitchers somehow out pitched them. While when playing the Freedom, I watch the game replays, it's pretty routine to see "WHAT AN OUTSTANDING PLAY" about once an inning from their defense...which gets annoying.

Love this sim. My 40 man roster is full and they are all getting called up. Mostly depth guys but should help down the stretch.

August was our best month so far at 20-9. Seattle is now 77-54, two behind DVS for the Bock and tied with Philadelphia for the #1 WC. Lot's of baseball left but we feel really good after today's short sim.

Thanks for simming Brad...and for not re-simming!

A nice 3-1 sim to close out August and push us into the lead in Stout by ourselves for the first time all season (I think). We finished up August at 19-10, our third straight solid month (we went 18-9 in both June and July).

This wasn't our best offensive sim of the season, but the pitching got the job done for the most part. Lippert was great again, and JD Cook made a spot start against Davenport and gave me 8 shutout innings. Unfortunately Israel Rodriguez blew a save again, after going so long without blowing one. Robertson also had a rough start.

We've positioned ourselves where I wanted to be going in to September. I've mentioned that almost all of my big series from here on out will be on the road, so our work is cut out for us if the we want to win the division. I don't plan on making too many moves with the expanded roster, just call up the guys who are already on major league contracts really. So, it'll be about 5 guys or so coming up, and I don't think any of them will be significant contributors.

Urmson has pulled into a dead heat with Stu Stark for the IL lead in WAR. I haven't looked over awards much, but I imagine it'll be hard to overlook what Stark has done at the plate once the time comes for that.

Lost 3 one run games which isn't ideal but expected when you trade two of your best setup men/closers. I'm OK with my decision. Lots of fresh faces joining the BLB club this sim:

                          SP Jimmy Maggio
                          MR Ed Hoffman
                          3B JD Harper
                          2B Tom Ragosta
                          1B Zach Lawrence
                          SS JP Lanthier
                          OF JJ Stampone
                          OF Robby McGowan
                          OF Dave Malden

That's a bright future. Now hopefully some of the old guard besides Marrero and Anguiano decide they want to hit soon and show the kids how it is done.

Can't say enough about the production from late additions TJ Dunn, Travis McCrory and Stephen Pierce.

Interesting note: I signed Pat Bryant to a minor league deal. He retired a week later. I drafted him in 1995 at 1.1. He was then traded in a monster deal to Indianapolis where he won a New Brew and the 2001, 2002, and 2003 Pale Ales before blowing out his arm.

The players we acquired in his deal (Raul Gonzalez, Raul Valencia and Rex Knight propelled us to two DL pennants that we lost (in sketchy sims) to Virginia.

He moved around a bit and I reacquired him as an elite lefty specialist where he got me back to the Brewmasters in 2013 in the IL. He was then dealt for Tom Estes who led me to the IL Pennant in 2016.

We got Bryant yet again from Z when we each thought he would retire following a major injury so that he could retire a Scorpion.

Except he didn't retire and signed with PIT and then SYR.

I finally brought him back to where we started. He's one of my favorite players and a sure fire HOFer. He was an elite starter and an elite lefty specialist.

Steve Suarez fractured his shoulder blade and then called his agent and asked, "How quickly can I sign that contract offer from Maine without putting any additional damage on my shoulder blade?"
