Tough stretch here. 2 more big games vs SEA then BAL and PHI. October is a bit better for us schedule wise and should allow us to get some of the youngsters mixed into favorable match ups.

OK sim, lost the series against Baltimore but took 2/3 against WC and then opened up the Davenport series with a win. Gabriel Vachon, the darling of the 1st half, has been abysmal since the All-Star break. He's going to take a short trip to AAA- I'm calling up AAA jack of all trades and former 1st round pick Omar Baber to play SS. Honestly he's ready and can't play any worse than Vachon has in July and August.

He's on pace to set a personal best in OPS+...at 38.

Unbelievable final game in Pawtucket last week. In a back and forth battle between Millers and Pats, the Patriots took a 3-2 lead into the final frame.
Enter Chaz Landis, the big deadline acquisition who's job was to close for the DL best team in Pawtucket.
Here's how the inning went.
Vickers - Single
Mock - Sac Bunt (one out - runner on 2B)
Santana - RBI Single (4-4)
Enter: Morikawa
O'Hearn - 2 Run HR (422ft 6-4)
Enter Burrows:
Flores - Single
Shook - Single (Flores advances to third)
Nara - Triple (8-4)
Cleto - IBB (first and third)
Enter Kym:
Zurita - 2B (Nara Scores, Cleto to 3B 9-4)
Vickers - BB (Bases Loaded)
Mock - BB (10-4)
Just an unbelievable comeback against one of the best teams in the league.

So we go 4-2 but in the Stout, that isn't going to cut it if you want to catch the leaders.
Talley has been a godsend to our rotation which had good talent, but really lacked a RHP that I'd trust against the league's best hitters.
Talley has gone 6-1 in 7 starts with a 2.12 ERA with a 0.94 WHIP, and 61 K in 46 IP. He's thrown double digit Ks in 3 of those starts and seems to really be hitting his stride.
Offensively, DJ Gosser looks like he's ready for the playoffs and rookie catcher, J.P. Katz has been getting better and better everyday.
I could probably use another reliever to fortify the pen but I'm not enamored with anyone on the waiver wire.
Looks we roll with who we have.
