Windy City continues to tank. Our pitching has been decent, and our hitters are getting on base. Our problem is producing runs. We're 10th in the IL in slugging percentage and 11th in extra-base hits and home runs. This leaves us 11th in runs produced even though we're 5th in batting average and on base percentage. We've got no pop. I've got a couple guys working through the system that can hit for distance, but in the mean time we're loading up the bases and not scoring.

On the plus side, David Slack is becoming the player I thought he'd be for us when I picked him up a year and a half ago. He's currently hitting .319 and has a positive zone rating. If he keeps this up we're in good hands at 1B until Fred Ratley is ready to play big league ball.

I don't remember if this milestone was discussed earlier, so I'll point it out now.

Last month, Dallas closer Reynaldo "Stinger" Jimenez broke the all-time saves record previously held by Gargoyle Nakashima.

Jimenez is now the saves king and still only 34 years old. His record will be tough to beat by the time he's done.

He's on pace for 53 saves this year, which would tie his previous season high that is the fourth-best single season mark in league history.

The season record for saves remains the property of Ivan Olivo, who set the record while playing for Virginia in 1992. (Olivo has not been convicted of any wrongdoing in the Virginia scandal.)

Olivo couldn't have set the record without the steroid kings winning all those games.

He's been so good at such a young age also. One of Jistics best draft picks. He had alot of them in a 3-4 period after a horrid run in the 90's of failed first rounders.

Is this Philadelphia team the best defensive group ever?

Defense, pitching and a station-to-station offense has been a good mix for us the last two years.

I believe I am some authority to speak on this subject, given the defensive success of my Guides teams last decade.

I think it's probably still one of my teams.

My 2005 club might have been the best.

We had DWI winners at second base, third base, left field, center field, and right field.

I'm not sure if there's another club who had five DWI winners in the same season.

I'm impressed with how well Yoyo Brummett gutted it out in 2017 with his deteriorating stuff.

He lost about five MPH on his fastball in the last year, but he's getting by on his cunning to the tune of a 2.99 ERA.

Arce is playing close to 2.0 WAR but I donīt think he worths $21M, so you will have a former premier pitcher in the FA

                            Yes, it's very annoying.

I tried to figure this out and it doesn't look like it. The 5 from your team that year looks like the most, but our Statslab page isn't complete for that award, at least not in the IL. Unfortunately, there's no Stat of the Day for this topic, either.

Not a bad sim, took 2/3 from Seattle but only took 1/3 from Philly.

Dave Kauffman is really dominating at AAA. He's gonna be with the team next year but he's making an argument to come up now. I don't want to start his service clock prematurely so I'm gonna baby him along. I'm going to have to stick with a 6 man rotation next year with the depth I have in the rotation.
