3-4 with three 1-run losses against some of the best teams in the IL, without Murillo in the lineup?

          I'll take it.

We opened the second half with a 5-2 week. Took 2/3 at Philadelphia, 2/3 vs Denver and then opened our series in New York with a win.

So, a nice start to what's hopefully a second half that resembles our play in June for the most part. Bullpen was a little rough this week. Hopefully I'll be able to bring in someone to help that, and I still have JP Lawrence in AAA who is probably ready.

4-2, with two going into eXtras and all games being decided by two runs or less. Seattle is now tied with Death Valley for the Bock at 47-35.

On June 6th, catcher J.D. Burrell took over starting duties from Dave Morrison after the team leader strained his hamstring. Since then, Burrell has hit eight HRs, five doubles, 17 RBI in 27 games. Acquired from Maine in the draft, Burrell is a monster at 6'9 270 and clearly has some power in his bat. Morrison can return from injury this week but Burrell's hot bat will remain in the lineup.

Staff ace SP Felipe Vega just won his 6th straight player of the game against Baltimore: 7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 8 K. He's now 8-4 on the season with a 2.44 ERA and .94 WHIP, leading all Pilots.

I need another hitter in the OF or at 2B. If you've got one, PM lines are open. We are really struggling to hit this season and I don't understand why. I'd like to hold onto HFA through the opening of playoffs.

Terrific 5-2 week to open the breach with Morgantown to 3 games.

5-1 in the year so far against the Millers, hopefully we can keep the pace during play-off time.

Gomez got VERY HOT again with 18 hits during the week.

Côté had a very respectable 3 games debut with 2 hits and +0.2 ZR in the LF, maybe he will be the 5th OF that we´re looking for

Arsenault is being brilliant so far, 1.74 ERA in 14.2 IP, long life for the next Decade for the Setup pitcher!

Jimenez 3 saves shy to break the all time BLB record for Saves, hopefully it will be this week!

                      Denver 4-3.

The Medina acquisition didn't get off to a great start, but not concerned just yet. Always feel guys struggle for a bit on new teams.

My owner hit us back on our goals. He's very happy we don't suck completely. He's very happy that I drafted Jimmy McGraw but he wants a young prospect with great leadership skills.

Either way, mostly a good mid-season review from him.

We moved a game closer in the wild-card standings. Now 6 games back. We are tied for third in the division and things are moving along quite well.

Nearly lost my breath when I saw TJ Davis OUT. But just a couple day injury.

This next week of Los Alamos and Baltimore could help us get much closer...or it could knock us really far back.

Made it thru the week of hell with Dallas Morgantown and Paw at 4-3...I'll take that. The rest of the month should be easier as we continue to play great ball. Can't say enough about the Jamie's, as they continue to lead us. It seems like every sim Jamie O'Hearn takes another step toward being a superstar, and he continues to move up the player rankings. I believe the players that went 1-2 in 2014 are going to be great players but I'm so thrilled to see how great of a player he's become, and might just end up being the best player in that amazing drsft class. The power, speed, intangibles he has are really special. (Can't hit lefties to save his life but that'll come)

My fictional baseball man crush lives on.

Outside of that - the minors look good right now. Dave Gurley continues his meteoric rise through the minors and may see himself on the roster before long. He's transitioning to an OF but the bat sure plays.

                        A - .315/.367/.500/.867
                        AA - .309/.403/.430/.833
                        AAA - .293/.340/.434

His transition was slow to AAA ball, where he only hit .266/.329/.359 in June, but as soon as the calendar switched to July he's been just fine, crushing to a tune of .343/.361/.571/.933 in his third level of the year.

Of course his offense is just part of the story in Allentown (AAA), as the pitching staff has been outrageous.

                        Joey Marohnic 7-3 2.50 ERA
Ivan Van Gorder 7-4 3.95 ERA
                        Jimmy Stough 6-3 3.36 ERA
                        Jamie DeShon 8-5 2.49 ERA
(Delandis favorite) Quincy Lacombe 7-3 3.31 ERA

And the pen has been dominant.

Enchanque, Griffith and Steen all have sub 2 ERAs in over 30 innings of work.

Great things going on in Pittsburgh now, and in the future!

FYI, for anyone wanting to take a flyer on a historically strong left-handed bat, you can find Tom Churchill on waivers in this next sim. Only $4 million left on his contract.

If you'd like to preempt the waiver process and acquire him directly for a ham sandwich, PM me.

and two think Tom Churchill wanted 16 million a year. Those free agent demands are getting outrageous. Just like MLB. Whose going to be the BLB's first $300 million dollar player?
