Nevertheless, I think UMD and you are every bit as good as Pat when it comes to the whole package of drafting, trading, and managing their teams. I think in a fair universe UMD and you probably already have a couple more.
Lolol . It originated from Matts original comment page one of this tread. Just saying Pats teams tend to make you say "what the f#%#". Your team has the 5th all time winning % and that by itself is something to be proud of. How often do you actually draft?

The summary I was suggesting is straight drafting and marveling at your prospects POTIENTAL might not be the best choice. If you actually look at Pawtuckets (and DV)current make up how many players were actually drafted by us???

    Summary: TRADE TRADE TRADE !!!!!

This is trickery. Do not fall for it. Of course the Clown (aka "the Arab") wants more trading. If you do happen to be approached by this character, BE SMART. Don't pull a Spear!

That's a big fat negative on my end. Best GM's don't mistakenly leave team leaders and top closers off the protection list. I know OOTP relatively well but hell, I don't know baseball. I've never even seen Moneyball.

The Cubs are finally good again and I still haven't watched much since the Pryor-Wood days.

Honestly, I think everyone that's been here a while with this game is pretty damn good at it. Z, Matt, Brad, Liquid, Jimmy....and the list goes on.

In the end, all I was saying is that Pat is using ratings, just not the traditional sets that are normally used in evaluation, and that the Seattle home run numbers look like an early streak. I could be wrong, just like everyone else. I wasn't trying to say "I'm good too" or "he's not good" or "he's just lucky" or whatever my posts are being interpreted to mean.

Hopefully, I've talked to Pat off the boards enough that he knows this.

Odd history note on this topic...

Only once in the last 30 years has a Pat-led team won more than 102 games.

We can give credit for the job he's done and say that some if it will cool off. Currently, Seattle is on pace to hit the most HR's in IL history. More than any of Clay's rigged teams hit, and more than current record holder - 2006 Death Valley. So, it seems like the safest bet is that the HR's won't quite keep this pace, even if they do end up leading the league.

But, he's got a good team, and his lineup is certainly outperforming what I personally thought they'd do. I figured he'd make it competitive in year one, but so far it's been more than that.

Lots of games to go though. Before this last sim, I wasn't sure what I was doing with my own team. Now, we lost our best player and still go 7-0, and I'm feeling good again. I don't know what to expect sometimes.

I didn't think this lineup would work at all either. I actually thought hitting would be this teams weakness when compared to rotation, bullpen and defense.

Still only 60 games in. Lot's of baseball left.

Lol, funny I think this what I was trying to get across but it came off wrong.

On paper his team's can look underwhelming, but if you dig into odd stats and yes ratings you can kind of get an idea.

The message that maybe I was trying to say is don't just look at contact, power and eye look at everything. I'm in a star league and though I think it takes the fun out of it IMO it does give you insight on all the pieces that go into a really good player.

There's just so much into building a team and Pat appears to be able to put the pieces in a position to succeed on a consistent basis. Really was the point. Everyone in this league has they're own ideas and most are very good. Wasn't insulting anyone.

Yes there's a long way to go and DV probably takes the division. Seattle a wildcard team you bet especially in this new format.

Probably not. Z is still gone, Brad is out of range, and I'm pinch hitting again.

Exports due by 8 AM PCT but it might be an hour or so later.

This. I'm in a foreign port of call and the concept of a functioning HDMI port here is foreign as well (the pc I travel with is a pc stick that requires the use of a tv). Thanks a ton, Matt!
