2-5. Butt kicked by DVS and Seattle. How Pat can be so good is going to make me retire sooner than later.

A number of things went wrong for us this year. Most notable is the Tom Churchill signing. I don't know what happened to him. His discipline at the plate seems to have vanished, as has his line drive power. He might not be longer for Maine. Feel free to hit me up with low ball offers.

First half decent sim for us in a while. Big changes this sim in Wilmington. Called up Surmier and Lewis and they both contributed nicely in their first week of service. Bafford off the DL and Jackson is back for the next sim. Hopefully we can gain some momentum from this.

I don't think that could have gone any better.

                  More sims by Matt, please.

Seems he's just a fast fader. Without being in game I thought his peak seasons were early in his career.

As for Pawtucket 5-2. Seems only one horse sort of behind us in the Ale.

                    Offense is now our strength.

Also, making "big signings" just doesn't work. Free agency is about role players and bullpen arms. Seems chemistry plays a strange role which I never got.

Thanks for the impromptu sim, by the way... and those games could have gone either way.

My bench coach just informed me that we have an awful lot of guys that are either "selfish, lazy or way too willing to speak their mind to the media." He also told me that waiver claim RP Fernando Ocampo is basically our "team captain." He also told me that the locker room needs a team jokester to keep morale up and get players out of a slump. Anyone shopping a comedian?

On the diamond, we had our first major injury, losing catcher Dave Morrison for the five weeks due to a strained hamstring. In his place, Triple-A All-Star C Katsuo "Dodo" Matsuyama will be called up to platoon with current backup J.D. Burrell. Morrison will be missed at the plate (.690 OPS vs. RHP) as well as in the locker oom and weight room, where he is one of our hardest working leaders.

On the waiver wire, Seattle claimed my 2008 4th round pick (while GM of DC) SP Ernie Fields from Carolina. The (now) 30-year-old has struggled at the BLB level but I'm going to give him a shot. Nostalgia factor. His control is nice, too.

Me and Jistic (and Jimmy) were hanging out last night and we were looking at Pats team. He just gets it. Best GM ever. I spent the entire 00s decade studying Washington. Stadium I own prevents me from the doing what he does (pitchers park), but overall it's just a lot of fun watching him make fringe players into servicable players. Think Jimmy and Pat more mirror each other.

Great learning for the new owners, ratings aren't everything.

Denver goes 5-2. The push is on.

Now 2 games back of the wildcard spot.

The climb with the rookies has been extremely successful thus far, and there's more in the pipeline, though the more promising ones are still 3-4 years away.

I'm not seeing a realistic financial situation in order to keep T.J. Davis so he's up for trade if someone wows me. Otherwise, I'll let him walk for free in 2019. Really would have liked to have him leading the likes of Reed, Gotschall and Duell, but the latter two won't be ready in time. Disappointing but I only have myself to blame by spending too much two years ago.

For now, positives. Denver is starting to score runs.
