Back at home and I finally had a few minutes to sit and see what our manager, Ismael Lopez, has been doing to start us off so uncharacteristically hot.
-So, it looks like since I had yet to export a file for the first two weeks of the regular season, a lot of my pre-season instructions carried on into the regular season. Therefore, outside of a few minor lineup suggestions, I asked Z to implement last sim, Ismael has pretty much had a free reign the last two weeks when it comes to lineup and pitching usage. Obviously, I can't really argue with the results so far and I am a strong proponent of not messing with things that seem to be working.
-Our bullpen has been lights out and to me, there is no question that Evers is a huge difference maker in our locker room, especially with the pen. He leads the league with 8 saves in our 11 wins which is a pretty awesome percentage.
-On the downside, I saw that our only Top 100 prospect, Brendan Lanoie broke his kneecap and will miss the remainder of the season. I'm not too optimistic about his return from this type of injury after watching Terumoto Chiba's steep decline and my scout's lowered expectations for Gil Mullins, both of whom suffered the same injury.
Now we have to teach Seattle a lesson since just as I see that Griffiths is hurt and as I am ready to call Dave Hallock off waivers to replace him, I get an email noting that Seattle has claimed him.
Stop stealing my AAAA players, Pat.
