I was really surprised he lasted this long since the FA cupboard is a little thin on pitching.
I think his price tag (asking 4-years $80M), age (34), durability (fragile), intangibles (low work ethic) and coming off a career best in a contract year, could all give teams hesitation. I was pretty much pot committed to try and contend this season by selecting $40M+ worth of players with my first three expansion picks. I'm over budget now but I think this team will far exceed my owners expectations of "don't suck completely."

Pat Dimmick gets his first manager job after spending 6 years as a pitching coach in Calgary (TOR-AA). He'll be managing our Single A org in Orlando, so I'm sure it is a welcome change for him. He's a "controlling manager" so I don't really have to do much but keep an eye on performances.

We also gave former Pawtucket hurler, Tom Vaccarella his first PC position in Orlando following his retirement in 2014. More of a finesse pitcher in his day, we hope that he can teach the kids just starting out in their professional careers the fine art of locating pitches for low walk numbers and balls staying in the park.

Thanks for the SIM Z...great job on all the trades lately.

Quiet in Batavia. We're cheap and it shows.

Pawtucket is just quiet right now.

Need some depth at the OF and maybe a bullpen arm??

A lot of them this time of the year are FA signings that we forget about. The game stuffs them in DFA. You have 1 SIM to move them over to the active roster otherwise the SIM grinds to a halt.

In your transactions area, check your DFA list (there's an option in the drop down menu). If you have players there that have < days remaining on DFA than will be processed during the SIM you'll need to move them.

                    You can either:

-Place on active roster (popular now because FA signings end up on DFA once they sign)
-Demote to minors (more likely used during the season when you're trying to demote someone that doesn't have minor league options anymore)
-Release the player (you'll eat the rest of any remaining salary)

Signed a couple backup's to start for us as we enter the dark ages of Ethan Stuart and Nishimura's contracts...

1B Tsu-jao Joe - when a guy can get 146 AB's with Morgantown you can't scoop him up quick enough. He is cheap enough with decent ratings though, and will likely split time with William George.

3B Manny Artega - Artega is more proficient at 3B, but we'll use him for SS depth vs LHP.

                          Charlotte Knights - OSFL
