Okay. Do I need to put up a new file now, do you think?
I'm very hesitant to ever change the league file without importing and then uploading at the new SIM. At least settings wise. Once I upload a league file I don't again until the next SIM because I'm always afraid exports won't take.
Seattle adds SS Rogelio Padilla with a four-year guaranteed contract along with reliever and former Bat friend Tony Osorio.
Very excited to bring in these two veterans. I feel very fortunate as I know I wasn't the only GM after their services.
Osorio is the first former Washington Bat to be acquired. I always loved him as a RP but after Liquid took over he made him a starter with some success. I currently have him pencilled in at the #2 spot in the rotation. He expects bullpen and bounced between the two roles last year but I'm desperate for legit pitching behind Felipe Vega.
Padilla's infield versatility will allow him to play at 2B, 3B and SS regularly. He probably pushes Rory Gray to the bench and Dave Nelson to 2B but we will see how Spring Training shakes out. Infield was major focus of the off-season and Padilla's name has been near the top of the Free-Agent Target List since the FA class was announced.
With budget room dwindling, the Pilots might join the masses in the "waiting game."

Wow OF Jimmy Lee retired. Was really looking at getting him for the OF as backup.
It's another warm summer day in Pawtucket. The Patriots and their staff stand by the dugouts as tarp is rolled off the mound. Three hours till game time.
Tony Torres, bench manager of the club, turns to his general manager, Funclown. "The boys are on a roll. We've got a nice lead in the division."
Funclown scowls. "It's not good enough. It needs to be better," he says. "Might need to shake up the team. I think they're stagnant."
"Stagnant?" Torres can hardly believe what he's hearing. "Sir, we're 35-8."
"And we lost two of three to Toronto," Funclown yells. "You know how I feel about those Canadians."
Funclown spits onto the ground, lifting his head to spot the man he's had his sights on since he obsessively checked the team batting stats.
"Jimmy Lee!" he cries. "You son-of-a-bitch!"
Jimmy nearly drops his bat at the loud boom from the six-foot-five-inch man in a suit. Ah, what the hell is it this time, he thinks.
Funclown stops, his nose tapping the brim of Jimmy's cap with every heated shake in his head. "When are you going to start hitting?"
Jimmy mocks, "As soon as the cage is out."
Funclown doesn't like it. "I didn't pay you to avoid retirement just so you could bat .205 in the process."
"Retirement?" Jimmy asks. ".205? I'm not batting .205, you crazy asshat."
Funclown pulls a sheet of paper out of thin air. A stat sheet. Numbers everywhere, but Funclown knows what he's looking for. His finger lands flat on a .205 under batting average. "Does that not look like .205 to you?"
"You dumb ass, that's Jimmy Lee the outfielder," Jimmy says. "I'm the third baseman you drafted."
Funclown is stunned. "Then who the hell did I just trade?"

There were times that Osorio was a really good SP. He lack of stamina and lack of K's might keep him from ever being the SP my scout seemed to think he was, but he's not a bad option. I bounced him around a bit last season trying to solve my pitching problems, not sure that helped him any. If he can bounce back to 2015 form, he's a good value. I let him go, since his arbitration number was listed at $10 million, and could have gone higher had I lost the hearing.
I liked Padilla a lot, your offer was just more than I was willing to go. Turned my attention to Vonada (as mentioned), and ended up with neither. His defensive ability across the infield is something we sorely need here, and keeps him valuable even if his bat slips any more.
Looks like about 6 teams are out and bunch of 7-15 million range teams. At the top are those 30-50 teams that have been more patient then to be expected which is impressive since they can play nuclear war with each other.
Seems we have all learned to be patient, but next sim or two should start seeing some teams ponying up the doe.

I was so busy this week I missed out on Lowe who I wanted to get back. Still need a hitting CF if anyone has one. Also a #3 pitcher maybe. Otherwise we're set to finish 81-81 again.

Generally your the master at "one year and out"
I was figuring your were trying to win via merc. Its still a concept that would be nice to be successful.
