    He had my vote.

Looks like both New Brew awards and the DL Last Call came down to a single vote.

Not too many bargains to be had to start it out.

The third arbitration is a big one too. Razza's a nice pitcher, but I'm not excited about him winning a nearly 16 million dollar contract through arbitration.

Washington said goodbye to Tony Osorio and Stephen Pierce, as I didn't offer either of them arbitration. Osorio's suggested offer was $10 million and Pierce has lost all ability/desire to take a walk. So, I do have some budget room. Gotta find the right pieces, and spending $30 million on one guy probably isn't in the cards.

Let's see who pulls the trigger first... It will be a waiting game like the last 2 years... :)

It will be an interesting game of poker for some.

Pawtucket has 7mil now plus 7 after 'Red' leaves. 14 million isn't a whole to work with considering everyone wants 20 million a year.

That is insane. California should go ahead and stuff him in the minors somewhere so he can retire with dignity.

Tom Churchill wants a third of my payroll. Good luck on the free agent market to a guy that should have been a life long Kodiak.

Makes we wish we had the old one year arbitration rule. These guys are crazy!

He wanted $35m? I've never seen that. I'm gonna go back to my old file and look. Even Philly signed the best 2B in the game for just under $20m which is fair.

His 1st Arb contract was $10m. If you signed him then you could have locked him up long term at $8-10m. Vastly underpaid IMO. No offense to FC but that's one of the reasons Pawt won 4 titles since 2010. We either allow teams to have multiple superstars on the cheap with money to burn or make it a little tougher and have a little FA movement.

I like the way we currently have it. Feels a lot more realistic.

None taken. We had some good drafts picks to go along with some magic trades. It made last season probably my favorite since we had to allow some good players to leave and pulled our best season ever.

Random question, but related: what's the over/under on CF Mason accepting taking his player option?

                          My bet is decline.

Just leave him exposed in the expansion draft and we will find out when he's in Seattle.

I think player movement is good for the league. And as Matt said does bring the difficulty up a notch for sure (we just traded a dam good closer for a fragile DH for gods sakes)

The question still remains though will revenue be able to keep up?
