I don't think anyone seriously thinks he isn't good. I know Mike is just hating on him to pick at me. It's all good. We both got our licks in and we will emerge better friends after.

But I'm not dumb to think every owner needs him either. That's why I've avoided talking to the teams that have a player I would trade him for. Most already have someone playing 1B or DH or have someone that's a year away. Trading away a 1B/DH isn't easy. Trust me, I know!

And that's my point. It wasn't easy then and it isn't easy now. I have many deals of experience. Many blown choices on minor leaguers I've asked for in return. Many years of mounting losses instead of simply riding it out.

That's why Del Rio is a free agent. Rather have him on my team, drawing interest and attendance and much needed money than trading him away for the single 2nd round pick that was offered (which in my opinion wasn't enough either way).

Trading away guys because I have this need to somehow capitalize on a return is done. It doesn't work for me. I see more value in winning some games with them and making money.

They'll all go to free agency or die before I move another name for less than a blockbuster return.

Speaking of 1B... Willie Rosales, the number 1 rated 1B, is available this offseason. He won't be in the expansion draft as Pat had hoped. I won't be asking much for him either, relative to some other recent trades.

Why the ERA of Pitchers in the IL is always higher by average than the ones in the DL?

In theory the DL has DH, therefore more hits, more runs, higher ERA... I don´t understand that... Park factors?

I'm excited for Shark, and I'm also not sure how Dallas made the playoffs with an offense that finished 19th out of 24 BLB teams in runs scored.
