I don't really think they do.

If you want a stat that measures offense only, check out RC/27. Sexy as hell.

Todd Taylor should be your vote for the pale ale.

Superior numbers to Yahn in ERA, FIP, WAR, K/BB, W%, Has a better record, pitches in a tougher park, and has already clinched a playoff spot.

He's pitched 50 less innings and has a higher WAR.

No need to over think this one, give the pitcher who had the best season the award.

I think because Yahn is going to end up with about 60 more innings, it hurts Taylor's case. Yahn has pitched about 1/3 of a season more.

You can't go wrong voting either #1 and I expect it will be a very close vote. These are two of the best seasons ever by a DL SP. It's a shame only one can win.

I wonder how we would handle a tiebreaker?

In 1979, Keith Hernandez and Willie Stargel shared the MVP Award.

In 1969 (nice...), Mike Cuellar and Denny McLain shared the Cy Young.

We should do the same, if it happens. I think it would be pretty cool.

Pretty sure it can't be done in game.

Oh yeah. Well, sounds like they'll have to fight to the death.

                It'll go like this:

Yahn's numbers are tremendous, the year he's having is an all timer. He's my bet to win the WC game and give PAW a major fight.

                  But

                  19-2 | 1.62 era |202 K - 20 BB | 5 HR
                  K/9 9.9
                  BB/9 1.0
                  HR/9 0.2

And of course, this is with 100% bias obiv. But any guy that pitches in Pittsburgh who has a 12-0 record with a 1.36 ERA AT Kennywood Park deserves to be recognized in my (homer-esque) opinion.

                    Both are great pitchers.

As for "giving PAW a fight" he would need to complete the game cuz that bullpen......

Bullpen has to be the most overlooked part of this game.

                      As for pimping....

Wow Kimball and thats it. Many having stellar seasons, but not a single guy who is taking the team on his back.

I think I like Taylor better this year for Pale Ale. Hell of a season for both of them.

Agreed, which is why Gerlach, Evers, McCleary and LaRocco are benched this sim. ;)

Sean Williams was the best closer in the IL. It's close, but he was. Willie Fajardo is neck and neck with Combs. Erik Jackson for New Brew.
