Ignoring his defense, I wish I could have more Tom Wood type players on my bench. I hate that I can't extend him to the measly thousands of dollars he's asking for all because I'm in debt.

      Not necessarily.

Unlike batting titles, players can win DWIs while missing a lot of games. See Fred Schubert '15.

        Just don't outright release him.

During the first off-season sim you can adjust PD/Scouting so you can re-sign.

Even in real life: Rafael Palmeiro won the 1999 Gold Glove at 1B while starting <30 games in the field. #truestory

Oh I'm gonna hope I somehow end up profitable enough to do so but I'm carrying a lot of debt. I'm not so sure I'll be able to.

I'm not releasing him either way. I'm going to hope his agent forgets to file some paperwork and he becomes our property.

In the unlikely case that I have downtime at work tonight, any chance we can get the utility for this week?

I'll run as soon as I get home if Matt doesn't get a chance to first.

Swept Philly, got swept by Baltimore. So, we are tied for first place, and also just one game up from 3rd place. Going to be an interesting stretch run in the Stout, as it always seems to be.

I was ready to post about Jimmy Matoon until I saw WC.

Jimmy "Long Haul" Cook is the newest great pitcher for Chitown. The man has been insane since July 1. 6-0, 1.13 ERA, 44K, 8 BB.

Yeah, my boy has really come into his own. We moved him down to the #2 spot behind Teel and put him on a pitch count. He's responded well.

I'm pretty happy with how my rotation is starting to round out. Pryor is putting up similar numbers to what Teel did last year, the biggest difference being Teel's strikeout numbers vs. Pryor's 71% groundball percentage. Boyd is struggling a bit, but he only got called up a couple of sims ago. My hope is that those two guys settle in and Wallace can get moved into the bullpen where we need help. I don't have any pitchers left in the AAA I'm too excited about, but my AA staff is loaded. I'll probably have to make do with the guys I've got through next season before I get another big influx of talent. At that point I hope to be making a playoff push. We'll see what happens.
