And if Batavia scoops him up, I like who I have next on my list as well. Had him in my Top 10 which wouldn't be bad for a 15th pick.
I was kinda in the same boat with my pick. I liked Lanoie a lot and was a bit surprised Macaluso was still there. Baltimore gets Lanoie so I had to go with Macaluso. Thought I got good value there.

    • Took a first look at the draft last night and made a bit of a list.

Good depth for sure, better hitters, but still some good pitchers. I'll be interested to see what's left in the fourth round when my first pick comes around.

I think there are a lot a good power potential first basemen types in this draft. Macaluso probably tops that list but my system is already filled with these guys so I went with Brendon (Lanoie). Not the greatest fielder but I think he's got the whole package at the plate.

        NCAA Trivia:

Brendon Lanoie had a 32 game hit streak in 2015 as a Seminole. Only two former NCAA stars had longer streaks.

        Name these two players.

One is probably Jamie McPherson. The other I have no idea.

            Swing and a miss.

One of the two, was pretty popular in Baltimore at one point.

The other is playing well for a DL team right now.

Correct. 44 game hit streak FOLLOWED by a 20 game hit streak in 2002 for the LSU Tigers.

I was sure Spectre would get this one.

The other also plays as a first baseman, but is a much better defender than Chiba ever was.

                    • I deserve that. Denver fired and Washington is up.

Went with Tom Ackers. We haven't had an OF prospect in while as we've been stuck on IF and SP the last five years or so. My scout says he's Durable and has 7 power potential. And he slugged 39 HR's in 2 seasons in the CCBL.

Had him higher than many other players. Waiting to see if he dropped to the 7th.

                          Sadness on my end

                          Chiba was a hitting machine

                            Exactly.

The NCAA season is only 50 games, so that record is one for the ages.

                            • With the 16th pick, Washington has selected SP Roger Villasenor, from the University of Arizona.

You all managed to pick 14 of the top 15 players on my draft board prior to my pick. Assholes. Villasenor came in 8th on my scout's list, and he was listed among the top 10 prospects by OSA when the Draft Pool was released. So, he's the choice here. My scout is pretty high on him, reading the report, and he was great in 2015. This season, he's been injured and ineffective. I'll chalk this season up as a lost season for him, and hope he's healthy going forward.

                              California is on the clock.
