Definitely looks like there's going to be some tough roster decisions coming up. Thankfully, Cleto is going to make this an easier decision for me, he struggled and still needs some seasoning in AAA. So our OF is set with Rojas/O'Hearn/Arbini/McKay/Shook although shook will mainly DH. One of the biggest areas of our focus this year is we want to be balanced in every facet of the game. 2 RH hitters, 2 LH hitters and a SW for our 5 OF slots works for me.
We're gonna roll with the 6 man rotation and again we're able to set it up with 3 R/3L. Talley- Taylor- Syversten- Bynum- Hall- Walker. This has the potential to be the best rotation in Pittsburgh in quite some time, and the Key to the whole thing is if Syversten continues to develop into that front of the rotation starter. Three years ago he got non-me pale ale votes, two years ago he was brutal, and last year he really came on strong. If he and Bynum can solidify that 3-4 spots in our rotation were in really good shape.
Finally, the last spot in the bullpen has been won by a guy I really didn't expect to win it....Jimmy Griffith. Acquired in the Peller to Dallas trade, he got his shot to win the final RH spot in the pen (because we're rolling with 3L/3R arms ... BALANCE) and he flat out won the job. In 16 innings he allowed only 1 run on 9 hits, no HR, and posted a 0.54 ERA. I'm hoping he's a guy that can be a key piece of the pen for a while and can keep his job when our two closer type prospects in Mercado and Bailey make their debut.
I hate the fact that the predictions don't mean anything. I want to be excited when I see it projects us for 106 wins...but then I see Indy is projected for like 40, which shows how little these predictions matter.
Hoping for more than one game playoff this season, but all signs point to this being a special season in Pittsburgh.

SS Jamie Frazier will make the 25 man Roster to cover Romero, he will back up the whole IF. Some adjustments are needed.
We don't need Pawtucket in the opening week at all but it is what it is...
Hopefully Romero will comeback at some point in Week 2 to drive some runs and turn some double plays!
GL for Frazier in his short stint with the 25 man Roster!
Very hard to send down again Dave Frank, he posted really nice numbers for a newbie.
Barber has to improve if he wants to send Daddy Gomez down during the season! He will have chances ahen the injuries start or if Daddy struggles but he has to make the most of them!
Orton will start somewhere in our starting Rotation. We will roast Contreras a lottle bit more in AAA
Valenzuela will setup as we expected when he was adquired from the Millers. Weiss and him should prepare nice dishes for Jimenez who is lethal and improved during the winter like Tom Brady does. Now Stinger is a 8/7/7 killer by our scout. This guy is a beast! He should kill the record for saves in the BLB at some point next season.
The Monson blockbuster deal is not paying dividends at all he MUST wake up and start to give us something

Nice spring training for Pawtucket and more importantly no injuries!!!
Were not as talented, but we feel like were balanced enough to make a run at this.
The new look bullpen will probably be the key to our season since we generally don't allow our starters to go the distance.
Hitting wise.....I think we will be ok.
Time to start generating more revenue!!!!PAWTUCKET PATRIOTS

In response to someone saying all amateur pitchers had 1/2 star ratings in OOTP 17. Thought this was interesting when looking at how scouts can vastly differ for each organization.
Originally posted by Markus HeinsohnOK, the problem is that your scout favors current ability, and this draft class happens to have no pitcher with a lot of current ability, so most are rated low.
We will try to tweak the 2016 draft class in the roster file, but for now either hire a different scout or increase the scouting accuracy.Denver Bulls
