We finish with a league best 106 wins and HFA throughout the playoffs. Our team is rested, we have no injuries, high chemistry, and are playing well. Now we just cross our fingers and hope for the best... again.

We shortened up Pat Evans for the final week push (which finds us one game short of a potential WC spot; just missed ) and he delivered 2 more W's in the final week to push his season total to 23, a club record. Nice season Mr Evans!

For those not in the Wildcard race, can we rest easy with our lineup until those games are completed?

Nice to see I lost another pitcher for the year. Maher started the season on the DL, never really recovered, and is now back on the DL.
I wonder if he's going to active the final year of his contract? I'm sure he can make more on the open market. But after a dismal year, and being out for the next 7 months, I wonder if he'll take the guaranteed money?

How are tie breakers determined in the standings for draft order? Just wondering about me and WC.

I removed both Burton and English from the rotation for this sim, and listed them as emergency starters. I had two other starter types in their slots in the rotation.

English came in late in one game and picked up a save, then started a game a couple days later, the last of the sim, and threw 90 pitches.

Burton started the second to last game of the sim.

The AI in this game is garbage! Neither of the guys I moved in to the rotation spots for Burton and English pitched!!

I'm pissed for you because I've seen how this thing has ruined plans for me. It's stupid. It makes bullpen management impossible in the series.

I don't even know how else we are supposed to avoid this sort of thing.

Maybe set a pitch limit of 1?

But of course, I'm sure someone will forget and Game One will feature English throwing the first pitch and immediately being pulled.

It hasn't improved from my experience with 16. Still a lot of bonehead bullpen management.

I didn't have as big a problem as you had, but I did notice that my 2nd starter, Baisden, didn't pitch in his last scheduled start.
                      But everyone else did. Odd.

I had some of my other starters at 60 pitches this week, I guess that's what I should have done for these two. There just wasn't any other way to line them up for the sim that wouldn't have them pitching on short rest or having them come out of the bullpen.

Fortunately we're deep in the rotation, so I can get creative, but those are my guys right there, and there's a chance neither of them pitch this first series. Total horseshit.

I wouldn't want this for Matt or Brad, but the game forces you to sim one game at a time, with exports each sim, the last week of the season.

My only suggestion, and this is extreme, and only if Brad/Matt would be able to:

Let teams that have clinched or are close PM their rotations and pitch counts so they can manually check and edit before each game.

                        But that just sounds terrible.

Yeah, I had two guys in the rotation, with the strict rotation option selected, that didn't throw a single pitch this sim.

Luckily I think everyone gets at least a couple days extra rest while we sort out this IL Wild Card.

So here is what you have to do:

You have to go to player strategy, and choose Bench Player for X Days: and put in the "7". I then too remove the player from the rotation and leave as "Emergency Starter." That way, the manager knows to bench the player for 7 days. Sucks you don't have Burton or English 100% rested...sorry man. We should really spend some time and type out a "Things to Know" for league-wide knowledge. I might work on that soon...

                              ---

Perfect sim for Pittsburgh. 3-3 week to clinch the #1 WC seed. We set all big name hitters, SP and RP as "bench for 7 days" (Todd Taylor for the past 14) and all are healthy, rested and ready to go. Hopefully the week off doesn't put them in a funk....

                              --

Good luck to the IL WC contenders.
