I'll only promote a struggling player if his age dictates it. A 19 year old, no.

4-3 Week for the Sharks and we´ve Pittsburgh right back sitting with 0.5 games behind. Now NO is 4 games away.... Damn it man, we still inconsistent.

We expect to make the play-offs with 3 more weeks of competition ahead, but it would be nice if we can skip the wild-car game and get a full 5 series games...

But we don´t expect that anyway.

T.J. Scott finally joins the Top 100, perhaps only for a short period of time, but right where I expected him to be.

Denver is hovering around 7th-9th overall in Minor League Systems lately. This sim left us 8th (90 points) and with 11 players in the Top 100. We might not have a Top 20 player but we have depth in the system.

          23 Dave Gotschall
          24 Tom Reed
          52 Robby Szymanski
          72 Bob Perkins
          74 Pat Webb
          76 Ian Coffey
          86 J.R. Santo
          88 Daniel Collazo
          96 Rory Lawrence
          97 Kiyokazu Sakai
          100 T.J. Scott

I suspect Lockard and Tom Spalding aren't too far behind.

With three first round picks in the upcoming draft, I think we might have a chance to bump ourselves up a bit. None of the players in the Top 100 are expected to be promoted to the BLB club next season.

Travis Gerlach has been re-donk-ulous since he got back from injury. 22IP - 30K, 0.41 ERA...We feel really good about the state of our pen. Ochoa has been a stud since coming over from Syracuse, 3-1 with a 2.65 ERA, 16K - 0 BB...can't always predetermine this but he's outperformed Medina (4.01 ERA) to this point. Hopefully he can keep it up.

I added the Stat of The Day link to the original post. It will now be included in the SIM thread. It's a pretty cool feature that is often lost in the utilities.

It also lists birthdays...so happy 37th to ex-Muckdog Bobby Cortes. Cortes was a 2nd round pick that never really panned out like we hoped, but his claim to fame is that he drove in the winning run in the 2005 Brewmasters. Bobby has never had to pay for a meal since in Batavia.

So we go 5-2 for the week, winning 3 of 4 over the Stout leader and 2 of 3 over the Bock leader.

We are 5 back and barring a total collapse by Wilmington, we are looking at just fighting for one the two final IL wildcard spots.

Looks like Caplan will miss the playoffs but our own homegrown "JJ" has been amazing in his stead.

Next week are games that we have to show some quality play.

Interestingly enough, no potential IL playoff team outside of DVS has a winning record away from home.
