It was $15, but I increased it to $18 when I made that trade.

    What's the league average?

(I also noticed that my team is last in merchandise sales, haha. I was hoping Jamie jerseys were going to fly off the shelves! )
That's a steep one-time increase. I usually increase .50 or a dollar at a time and track the change as I go.

3-3 and this is just one of those years where we can't shake nagging injuries. Falvey is out for 3 more months and he's probably done for the year as far as we are concerned. He'll try again next year at AAA. We also lose Daily for about a month.

Somehow, we aren't out of the wildcard race though.

              Welcome to Dallas Monson!

5-2 Week for Dallas, 3-1 against powerful Hartford and then 2-1 against NY.

Monson clipped a .241 with one double and a +0.7 as a 1B, great start!

Good debut for Ryu, Salazar more settle hitting against righties.

Now if only could have a LHP hitter... But I guess we have to live with what we have. Graffing is playing really nice in AAA and should be ready soon for the Show. Posted .400 against LHP, just what we need... Can´t wait to have this guy up.

We´re tied for the WC lead and have a 4 games advantage.

Very complex week with NO and LAD coming to visit us.

Erik Jackson debuts in AAA. 11 for 25, 6 doubles, 2 homers, 5 RBI, 5 runs, .440/.462/.920 in the cleanup spot. Once he can play SS at a plus ZR, he'll be in Vegas full time.

Speaking of money questions. Is there a way to increase payroll. I noticed I'm in a division with a team that sports a $107 000 000 payroll while my owner likes to roll in the high $70 000 000 range. Does the answer lie in ticket prices or stadium size, or does my owner just stink?!

There's a lot that goes into it. Brad and Matt are better at the financials, but years ago we evened every market. Basically, the easiest way to increase your overall budget is to win AND keep your team in the black while you do it. Winning brings in playoff revenue, increases you cash on hand if you're profitable ($10m cash each offseason), increaeses fan interest and loyalty, which fills the seats, which enables you to increase ticket prices, increases merchandise sales and gives you larger media contracts.

The highest budget teams in the financial page are the (generally speaking) "winningest" teams of the last 8-10 years.

It's possible to do a full rebuild and not lose money. It's all about how you allocate it during the rebuild. Our owner was very generous, and when he died his son took over, who is also very generous. But while it might not seem like we have a lot of money to spend right now, we have a lot tied into scouting and player development. Once we cone around, that money can be taken from scouting and player development and used for other things. We also might have one of the lowest ticket prices in the league, which helps keep asses in the seats.
