Then almost immediately changed strategies by having a fire sale to build for the future. It looks like I'm going to have to base the soundness of that decision on my future picks.
Look, don't do what I've done. Don't change your mind every season.

It becomes problematic because you can't recover from changing focus so often. If you trade away all of your young talent to go for it, you're then trying to trade that expensive talent for prospects. In the end, you have less talent.

You end up with expensive players no one wants. Or you end up with the the only average prospects you could get. Rinse and repeat and the talent level declines each time.

I knew this and couldn't help myself. And I'm talking as recently as this past season.

Look at the record. Look at the talent now dispersed across the league. Look at the budget history. Look at the number of veterans employed by this organization. Avoid all that.

If you want to rebuild, rebuild. If you have rebuilt and see an opportunity to win, go for it. But don't do all that and then decide to rebuild and then a year later go for it again.

Here, what we see you do is what's expected. New guys always want to have their own team and always rebuild. But I acted like a new owner every other year.

That's what I'm in the middle of. It's just not as fun to me if I'm playing with somebody else's team. Even if they're winning, I end up feeling like I'm riding somebody else's coat tails. I much prefer to trade everybody away for prospects and picks and field a team that I'm invested in.

Or you can take an under valued asset and trade him for other assets which you can then flip to add to the total haul. Flip flip flip city

It's never a bad thing to have a fully loaded war chest at your disposal.

Don't worry about riding someone else's coat tails, I'm still using someone else's team, it's not that bad, just change the uniforms and trade a bunch of players then trade for them again later. Just a never ending circle

Flipping is cool. You did it with one goal in mind.

That's where I think more experience will come into play. I'm still trying to figure out if the stats are more important or the ratings. I've got some players that look like studs that don't produce (Gaxiola 6 4 7) and some guys whose ratings are not great who look like monsters (Filar 5 5 6 4).

Never mind the fact that my LEGENDARY scout thinks that everyone is an 8 power and I keep drafting all mash no field prospects.

I am enjoying the learning curve and the fact that the owners are willing to help and not rob the 'new guy'.

There is good streaks and bad streaks, it can last even a couple of years in my experience, also be aware of the money that you are giving to your scout as the league average is $10M. If you give to him more money then will be more accurate. Also you have 4 options to put the money in, so if you are giving more budget to amateurs then drafting will be a strength, if you feed minors then developing players, if you feed BLB them veterans. It's all about where you want to spend your money in.

And how good the Dice is with you too :)

Interesting swing through the DL this week. Gonna throw Porter twice. See how that goes for us.
