3-4 week, no one got hurt, and Antonio Cardenas becomes a Guide.

    I'll take it.

Almost a double broom week to wrap up a strong May. Anguiano goes down but we add some waiver wire depth in DJ Philips and Leger. Dave Porter becomes our lone lefty in the rotation at $3.5m. I'm sure he will be awful because he's sat unsigned this long.

Love Cardenas to Maine. Nice job Z as always.

4-3 sim keeps us in first. Waiting for a couple guys to step up this season (Ted Hall, Robby English, Jimmy Gray), so that speaks to the depth we have on this team. I feel like we're lucky to be where we are at this point.

3-3 sim, lost a series to Indy and then took 2/3 from Syracuse. Starting pitching has been inconsistent. Osborn is now 2-0 to start his BLB career which is encouraging. Big series against Pawtucket and Hartford are on the horizon.

SP Franklin Ramires (Double A) added a sinker to his arsenal, according to my scout. The pitch is rated 5/5. OSA yet to confirm.

Hitting is woeful as Dorval, Rivero, and Eckstein have hurt us tremendously.

Thankfully I saw some good other of Cryer as DH this past week.

Time to continue the youth movement. Gabby Smith has been sensational for us to start the year, and last year Manley and Reyna flashed some talent. Now they will be joined by Griffith, Lee and Richards.

We need runs. And we are fortunate to add bats with gloves.

Unfortunately for Cryer, this means Lee takes over the DH spot. But Cryer is a decent backup in the outfield.

I wish it happened more often in OOTP.

Apparently my fans were still holding out hope for a Cardenas return, as our fan interest took a hit with that signing.

But we had a good week on the field, 5-2 to retake first place. Hopefully this is a sign that our slump is over.

                          Whimper

California out with a whimper in the month. A lost 8-20, has the fans clamouring to see the rookies and waiting with hopefulness for a stocked draft class next year.

Last year's potential award winner Jamie Crook is continuing his awful season with two more losses. This has also had a big hand in our 3-10 record in one run games.

3-4 as we end May disappointingly at 12-16 for the month.

And although Rodriques has been the talk of the papers with his 15 home runs that is tops in the IL, the diehard Bulldog fans are raving about the play of Walt Nichol(OF) who was re-acquired from NY. The 26 year old, former Bulldog prospect had an outstanding month of May hitting .380/.427/.524 and posting a league leading +9.8 zone rating in just 30 games started.

I'm not sure that he can keep up the offensive performance, but the defensive performance is more that enough to earn the everyday starting job.
