2015 BLB Amateur Draft Beginning Fri 01/22

So a few of these guys have come off the board in the last few picks:



5.17- Los Angeles - LF Colin Wynn is currently on A Nitro

5.19- Wilmington- SP Dave DeLoach is currently on A Hondo

5.22- Batavia- MR Wyatt Brewer is currently on A Aberdeen



Not sure what we decided the plan was, but these are the first I've seen get picked.

Anyway, I'm still picking and took LF Noburo Shigematsu. My scout likes him a lot for whatever reason, and he's put up some good numbers this season.

I was hoping he'd fall a little further. I hated his intangibles but my scout liked him.

And it was too hard to pass up on having a prospect named Dusty Katz.

His intangibles are truly awful. They kept me from picking him earlier as well. But my scout says 6-4-5-7-6 for his potential and he's hit well this year. My scout also sees him as well developed for 17 years old. OSA was obviously watching a different player on the scouting trip. This will probably be the last time I mention his name, unless he wins a few Stout Sluggers.

I'm not in front of the game but my scout said 6-3-6-3-3 or something like that.

I just know it was a very strange combo of skills.

I think he's probably really got the talent so your scout is right on that, I just don't think he'll make it there.

Good eye! Keep a list and we'll fix it post draft with teams either picking another or forfeiting the pick. I'll just forfeit mine.

Next year we'll start the draft later.

Nice. My last pick was signed by Maine. All good! Wasn't sure what I was going to do with some of these picks so that makes my life easier. Only chose one guy I didn't want in the 7th round. Missed my two-hour window. Happy with the rest.

Well I drafted four catchers in this years draft and a bunch of middle infielders. Hopefully i hit on a couple of them. Brighter times are ahead in New York

Next year we can start later which should alleviate the issue with minor league undrafted FA's getting in the draft pool then getting signed during the draft.

How can we have undrafted FA without finishing the draft?? Are they coming from the past's year Draft?

The draft classes are so big now, I think you are right that it will probably continue to be an issue. But if we close the window of opportunity (i.e. start the draft later), it should be manageable.

I think anyone not drafted that wasn't signed has a chance. Not sure though.
