      • Wow!

This is a little scary. Maine picked both guys I had tabbed for those two picks before the trade. I may look back on this day with some serious regret.

          Maybe.

Widman would probably be a first round pick in this draft. And you still have the two picks to make.

            • Widman

That was my thought process at trade time. I also didn't factor in my offence imploding after last year's display.

Yea, i got overwhelmed trying to figure out how i could rate and sort players, told myself i'd come back to it later and forgot about it, got autoed, i can't even tell if i got a good player out of my newbie moment.

But dont worry, even if im not the most active on forum, i sent most my exports.

He was #1 on my list. I should have picked him with my first pick. Stupid me.

                    • Bats have picked.

A few picks fired off after me, so Pittsburgh is up.

                      • My thoughts on the last few picks:

Lofink and Long will almost certainly be good, not sure if great
My scout loved Mireles- should hit for some average and plus power.
Jayden Jones should be a solid starter, ceiling similar to Lofink and Long

My back to back picks to start the 2nd round are two really interesting prospects:

2.1 was Joey Proctor- he's a raw high school talent but my scout is bullish on his bat skills. He thinks Proctor should be a .300 hitter with 30 HR potential. He won't walk much and will probably strike out a bit, but he's super raw. He's gonna need a few seasons to get comfortable behind the plate.

2.2 was Efren Washburn- he's rated highly among the top player in HS (#3 position player). He's a bit of a gamble but if he develops according to what my scout thinks he can do, he'll be a starter.

Overall these two picks fill two big areas of need at catcher and middle infield. I have another pick in the 2nd round- have two guys who I'd like at those slots and am interested to see who goes in the next 20 picks.

                        • Excited to take Jamie Gardner here. Think he has a chance to develop into a nice infielder over time.

                          • I'm happy to get Jayden Jones at 23. He was 10th on my scouts draft list, my scout sees him just like OSA does. Nothing spectacular, but could be a solid starter if it works out. Also listed as durable, so that's a plus.

Yes he does. Mintz and Gardner were favorites of mine this late at the shortstop position.
