    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their third arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have three "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Please vote for the HofF inductees.

Also if your 40 man roster is full and you signed or are trying to sign FA's please make room. We have to pick who to DFA and even though we try to pick the older less talented blokes we might get it wrong.

    Thanks!

Extended all our important pending FAs - Lara, Estes and McCarley and add defensive OF Jarrod Dapson at the right price. Whiffed on Robideau by a little (to Matt of course) and still have some cash to spend.

We probably need a lefty SP. We'll look in house first and we still need a backup C. Other than that, we're in position for another division title.

Finally...we were able to sign Travis Gerlach. He took 3/30~ as opposed to the 8/87 I offered him earlier this offseason, and thats even better because it allows us to bring home Tubby to pitch the 8th inning. I should have never let him go to begin with.

That concludes our offseason, set out to improve the team dramatically and I hope I accomplished that.

Over paid a bit to bring David Santoyo to Indy, but he was the last piece. He'll play 3rd primarily, but could move around the infield as the season progresses. Love his ability to get on base, and he'll be the perfect lead-off or 2-hole hitter for us.

I am immensely excited about the prospect of Henry Rodriques attempting to catch fly balls in Baltimore while earning $9 million.

Also, Maine signs Fred Schubert. He'll split time in the corners and DH spot with Bafford and Suarez. He'll basically play somewhere everyday against RHP.

Welcome to Washington, Al Moon. We're happy to have you here.

Also very pleased to lock up Jamie Urmson for the next 3-4 years.

Getting those done, as well as a few minor league signings make this a good sim for the Bats.

Pretty excited for spring training, just one more FA sim. I've sent out some feelers for a couple more parts. Offense is going to stink but I'm optimistic about the pitching this year. I put out an inferior offer for Moon but liquid's offer was much better than mine FYI.

For your information, he'll be making 9MM per year to drop balls at first base, thank you very much.

As Z has mentioned, we added a significant amount of power to our lineup with veterans, 32 year old Henry Rodriques, but we also nabbed the ageless, J.J. Caplan. We had nearly 40MM of cap room available so why not add these guys with 1 year deals? Plus, I'm not sold on the idea of dropping 20+MM in PD every year. I'm pretty sure there is a law of diminishing returns stuffed in there somewhere.

But anyway, we also added former Tob, Joey Daily to man second base this year while Dave Graves transitions to the BLB.

Yea. Along the same lines, I gave Robideau a 3 year deal worth just a little less annually than what Matt sent. He obviously like the idea of a chance at FA again next year.

We were in on Moon as well. Just a better offer from Washington. Feel confident we will field a competitive team this season.

I'd been trying to sign either Moon or Mejia all offseason, I already had an offer out for him from the previous sim. I figured more people would go after him given the lower asking price, so I just kept my offer in the same neighborhood it had been before. Glad I did.

Very excited with my pitching staff now.

You won the offseason without a doubt. +20 WAR is a huge gain. Very impressive.
