    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their third arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have three "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Can we exceed the minor league roster limits at all right now when it comes to number of players, or no?

We may now have the youngest manager in the league. Tommy Keatts takes the helm in Philly at the age of 39.

Damn. I tried to hire him as my bench coach. Glad he accepted your manager position for the sake of the games logic.

Former Mississippi draft pick- I know he's just a computer player but I'm pretty proud that I got his career started

                    Happy Days... I Think?!

For my first foray into the FA pool, California was pleased to land Felipe Vega. Not to sure how a 39 year old pitcher will do at the end of the deal, but we are pleased with the dollars for the first few. It's the price of doing business when your organization is in love with the long ball and have zero pitching talent.

He was on my radar his whole career. Funny that we would finally bring him in as a manager. He always scouted higher than he performed. Thought that age 24 season with 51 2B's was a sign of things to come, but he never really advanced into his prime.

Now onto my FA money splurge- I'm hoping that I'll be competitive in 2-3 years with this team. My offense is going to be very affordable this year (and for the near future) so I could afford to spend big on pitching- I have some interesting young bats coming up the pipeline who will be cost-controlled as well (Dave Robinson, Antonio Sanchez, and Gordie Gugliotta are not too far away).

Mejia was a guy who I regret not drafting- I was worried he wouldnt have the stamina to be a starter and I wasn't willing to take that risk with a top 10 pick...I was wrong. He's still got a few elite years left in him I think. My hope is in year 3 when the team is ready to hit its stride Mejia will be there as the ace.

Now I'm also stoked with signing Antonio Romo. My pen is now a major strength with Fajardo and Romo locking down the middle/late innings and Fink closing it out.

I'm going back to the Mississippi and NYK basics which helped me get here and that starts with good pitching which I've lacked for a few years.

Is there any system that makes former players become managers? Wonder if the personality ratings effect anything.
