    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their third arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have three "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

With a 10 million dollar payroll I felt obliged to spend some money. I spent 1.6 million on two catchers which was the same platoon I had last year. I still have lots of holes on the team that I will fill internally so my payroll won't budge too much.

My bullpen stunk last year so at least I have a nice back end of the pen with Fajardo and Fink. Its the only bright spot for this team for the near future while I rebuild.

Another signing from the bargain bin in Washington. I was hoping to make a bigger splash this sim, but it was probably unreasonably optimistic to think the bigger names would take the offers I put out there.

I do have a surplus of arms, both starters and bullpen.

No new offers from us, but Erik Jackson jumping to #26 is huge. Jamie August drops to #60, but he did that last season too. Once he starts hitting he always climbs back into the top 30. Our future looking good in the middle of the order.

JR Rhoads is at #68 and Jarrod Sanders checks in at #95. I don't think I've seen either of those guys in the top 100 before, so that's good to see. Dropkick maintains his hold on the #1 spot. He's not that far away, really. Not that I'm in a huge rush to bring him along.

We now rank dead last in the minor league system rankings.

Still, we have a bunch of guys who are borderline on the list. Not too worried.

Uh new year's ratings are out there?? :)

Ruedas went to Hartford, nice adquisition dudde... Enjoy him, he is in the peak before his twilight. 5 years it's a bit long I think but that team option will give you a leg up if he struggles with 34

5 new additions to the minors, tome to revamp some old names and get better and younger players. They won't make the majors never but who knows. It's always good to surround your stars with capable players to help with his development.

Didn't think it would take long for him to make the jump.
