2014 Offseason SIM 3 Complete - Next SIM SAT 01/09

Dave Graves (2B) makes his debut in the top 100. He bitched almost all of last season that he was ready for the bigs so we are going to invite the kid to spring training less than a year after being drafted.

    Other notes:

    1. Glad to get Nichol back to hold down CF. That was always the plan with him.

    2. Mad I missed out on Jan Parson (f'n Matt).

    3. Franklin Martinez hangs 'em up. Lights out reliever for us for a decade. I probably should retire his number.

Surmeier still the #2 overall prospect, Tristan Jackson sitting at #5 (even though he's pitched his last game in the minors last year in the AAA championship), and Tommy Bartholomew sits at #6. Taking Bartholomew at 5th overall with a torn labrum seems to be paying off. He'll start the year in AAA but might not finish down there.

Finally starting to see some of these losing seasons pay off.

Love how stocked your system is bro. So much talent coming to the show the next few years, Wilmingtons building something special imo

My 2013 first round pick SP Micah York went from an 8/4/5 in the previous OSA scout to 6/4/4.

And from my #3 prospect, in the top 100 overall, to not even on my top 20 list.

          Fuuuuuuuuuck.

Since I trust my scout my life is a lot more happier.

We're behind someone for the 2nd Overall farm system. With the trade of Payette we might go down a little bit but ey, thanks scout, you will be paid top dollar until you retire!

I'm pretty sure the Top Systems list only goes off the Top 100 Prospects, so anyone not on that list (such as Payette) won't affect your system ranking.

At least, that's how it used to work.

                    That's a very good news :)

Farm system ranking doesn't mean anything but it's good to be good at something, hahaha

                      SS R. Cheek (64th) , 3B T. Abrams (73rd)
Really glad to see Cheek and Abrams crack the top 100.

Cheek was the 19th overall player chosen in the 2013 Entry Draft. I don't love him as a fielder, so he may have to move, but that Eye rating, and his performance his first full season is really good to see.

Abrams, a 6th round selection in 2011, has shown some potential power bumps and he's hitting for good power. A better fielder than Cheek, Abrams does have a cloudier future at the plate, so whether he's a full-time player, or a utility type at the corners remains to be seen.

                      Yay baseball!

Since we're talking prospects I'll throw a few names into the fire. Happy to see Jamie DeShon (#92) and Joey Marohnic (#50) jump onto the top prospects list, DeShon was acquired in the Bafford deal and JM was a draft pick this season.

Another thing I'm pretty pumped about is how much my scout loves Mat Marcus. First rounder from a few years ago is not well liked by OSA but my new scout has him at 5/5/7/7/5 potential, and entering his age 20 season, Its a big season for him in A ball.
