    Reminder

    14. CONTRACTS
    • If Team Option is used the Buyout must be the difference between Option year and highest Guaranteed year.
    • Only one Team Option may be used per contract, and it must be in the last year of the contract. This prevents people from stacking Player Options after the Team Option.
    • Players cannot be signed to contract extensions until after they have received their third arbitration contract. Players become eligible for contract extensions once they have three "Received a 1-year contract worth a total of $xx through arbitration." in their player history.

Nelson Herrera won a Defense with Integrity Award (his third) while playing only 88 games.

I can't recall seeing a DWI winner with so few games played.

FA1 is always extreme. With the change they went up several million...that's it.

I didn't sign any of my guys until FA3 and FA4 last season. All depends if you have the money and you're willing to gamble if they are still there.

            Pretty much.

            I don't think it's that unrealistic.

Look at MLB free agency the last couple months.

Chris Davis started free agency seeking eight years, $200 million.

No one was willing to pay it. Teams instead offered him around $150 million over six or seven years.

Two months later, he's still on the market.

            His demands are going down.

On the other hand, two years ago the Mariners decided to jump in and pay Robinson Cano's $240 million asking price in the first couple weeks of free agency.

            Decisions, decisions.

I feel excited about the change. It's going to be a lot harder for a few teams to hoard all the good players.

There are a few who are good deals IMO. Al Moon, Acre, Ruedas. It's nice to see a decent FA class.

Might want to make a post in the Trade Block forums Paul...more visibility!

Combs won Pale Ale and DWI. He's about to get a $15m a year raise.
